Our friends took us here and from the moment i walked in i knew it would be good. This place has that classic, old school look, including its clientele, which is a good sign. It has clearly been around for a while and earned a spot in local's hearts. We had a hotpot but the rest of the customers were ordering more traditional dishes and dim sum. I wouldnt be surprised if that was good too but i can only speak for the hotpot in this review. The first thing i noticed was that this was a fire rather
The first thing i noticed was that this was a fire rather than electric hotpot. This is a neat novelty you don't often see. Occasionally places will have single flame burners they pull out for hotpots, but to have old school recessed burners in the table was pretty neat.
The food itself is solid. They use good quality beef for the slices, and the beef balls seem homemade and have small pieces of celery in there too, which is special.
They gave us a lovely cold tea drink to start but i dont know the name.
The dumplings were a nice surprise too. I'm often underwhelmed by hotpot dumplings but these were fresh and not too salty and overseasoned as I've had before.
Overall this place is solid and I am excited to return for the dim sum. I also think we will bring our friends and family here in the future for a fun HK experience.
