We made a reservation and we called ahead to apologize and let them know that we were going to be late. Over the phone, they said they couldn’t guarantee that they could keep our booking, and we said it was fine because we understood that we were late and that we would just wait for a table when we arrived. We made a reservation and we called ahead to apologize and let them know that we were going to be late. Over the phone, they said they couldn’t guarantee that they could keep our booking, and we said it was fine because we understood that we were late and that we would just wait for a table when we arrived.

When we got there, we approached the guy at the front and told him we were the people who just called. He welcomed us to the restaurant, picked up some menus and led us into the restaurant, and said “Let me take you to your table”. Then suddenly stopped in the middle in front of an empty table, pointed to it and said to us “You were very late, so you cannot expect us to give you this table anymore” then led us back out of the restaurant...

So instead of directly telling us that they gave our table away, he led us in there just to show us an EMPTY table that he will not be giving us anymore because we were late. Not sure what the point of that was, but it’s a horrible way of treating a customer. All in all a horrible experience.
