Genki's main attractions are the incredibly low prices for a great variety and good quality sushi, as well as free tea and the sit-down-and-eat-without-waiting factors. However, this branch's quality varies - if you just pick the sushi off the counter, or go at times when there are very few people, the quality of sushi can be very poor. When you go during the busy hours, the sushi is excellent - considering the 'rice balls' are made by a machine. The restaurant is small and the seating can get very
However, this branch's quality varies - if you just pick the sushi off the counter, or go at times when there are very few people, the quality of sushi can be very poor.
When you go during the busy hours, the sushi is excellent - considering the 'rice balls' are made by a machine.
The restaurant is small and the seating can get very cramped. It is located next to a McDonald's, so can become very noisy at certain hours. The service is barely sufficient - they are not great or polite, but they won't leave you too unhappy except during the busy hours.
I don't say this is my favourite branch without some very good reasons. My recommendation is to go just before or just after the busy hours - for dinner time, this means 5.15pm or 9.15pm. The queues then are short (max. 5 minutes for the 9.15pm one except on Saturdays, maybe 15 minutes then) and the food is high quality because the turnover rate is so high. Their recent selection of new sushi tastes great (I have tasted most) and their traditional menu can be wonderful.
I don't think I can add much more for comments since the other reviewers have already stated them .
Overall: 7.5 out of 10
