Arrive on time and table is already available. Check the menu and found it’s
now in seasonal “seaweed” special so we order some of them. For the appetizer
we took “Seaweed with mini shrimp” (蝦苗拌頭水紫菜) and” Braised Pig Intestine” (九轉小腸) For the seaweed not much dressing is added because the small shrimp is
already fresh and tasty, mixing with the taste of sea in the crispy seaweed,
good taste along with nice texture. For the intestine, sounds ugly for”小腸” but when it come we are amazed: 9 layers folding just like a work of
art! Each later is well braised, juicy and spongy but not tough.
Next is Seaweed Omelette (一品紫菜煎), looks like 蚵仔煎 in Taiwan but all are eggs and seaweed but no corn starch. Egg is well
pan fried but not burnt, smell of eggs plus crispy texture of seaweed, new
taste and experience and we like it.
Then the “100 second Stewed Yellow Craker” (百秒黃花魚) come,
I am not a skilful fish eater so my wife took most. She pick some fresh to me,
so soft just like eating tofu! Also taste some juice in the bowl (probably from
the fish), just like drinking thick fish soup, sweet but not fishy.
Finally the rice (Meizhou claypot Rice with seaweed) come. The rice is a little
bit sticky, but with oyster smell even inside. Probably the rice is cooked by
oyster soup but not water that why so smelly! Apart from seaweed there are also
dices of dried oyster mixed in the rice. I feel I am taking abalone rice!
