I love Wanchai, there is endless choice of restaurant and variety of cuisines. I've had some good luck and some bad ones X_X but this one is high on my list!!As soon as you open the door, you need to climb a flight of stairs. The stairs are not so well-maintained (it's clean just not impressive or pristine). You can tell the carpeted stairs is a bit worn down but I actually like this old-school feeling. The main color is orange-ish/brown. It's not an easy color to use, but somehow with the pictu

The main color is orange-ish/brown. It's not an easy color to use, but somehow with the pictures, lighting and the brick wall (w/ windows you can see through the kitchen), I find it quite harmonious
There are so many sections on the menu – Himalayan style, Indian style, BBQ, curry, vegetarian etc … the list is exhaustive. We finally settled for 5 dishes:
1)Chickpea salad – the main ingredients like chickpeas, tomatoes, potatoes and cucumber are fresh and sweet. The dressing is a brownish-red sweet and sour sauce. It is one of the best “specialty” dishes I’ve ever tried
2)Indian style smashed spinach with cheese – GOOD! The taste and the consistency are just right. No complain.
3)Khasi ko Masu (boneless mutton in Himalayan style curry) – The sauce is perfect, just the right kind of spice and hotness. The sauce is of the right consistency, not being weighed down by cream or coconut milk. The mutton was a bit chewy but was good enough, it’s the sauce I’m going after
4)Onion naan – freshly made naan seasoned with the sweetness from the onion. This one is almost perfect.
5)Indian Yellow Rice – it’s not the typical “yellow color” rice. It’s a blend of pilaf rice, yellow-colored rice, spices, mushroom and some saffron. It tasted good, but we were doubting if they gave us the wrong rice (there are 2 kinds of rice on the order).
I also tried their banana lassi. It was a bit sweet, but the waiter added some plain lassi for me to dilute the sweetness. Hmmm… yummy
This delightful and satisfying dinner concluded my weekend
