Kam Kee Café is one of the renovated style café remaining with Hong Kong’s traditional cultural café, which located on Des Voeux Road West. Kam Kee Café was originally located at Shau Kei Wan at 1967. However, the rent growed exponentially and Kam’s cannot sustain by this huge expenses. They decided to close the café at 2012. Luckily, the café was renovated and reopened at Sai Ying Pun at 2013.

The café was redesigned, and the image was based on the childhood memory of last generation. It could be easily observed from the inside layout, it shows the most popular snack of that generation of children at the wall, the chef special’s painting and the menus attempted to be a table tennis beat. It tries to indicate Hong Kong style within and for giving an impression to customer.

The products in the menu were remained the same, which includes Stir-fly Beef with Rice Noodles, Pan-flied Luncheon with Instant Noodles and Hong Kong-style milk tea etc.  Besides, Kam’s signature dish, the Curry beef with Crunchy Farmer’s Bread is highly recommended. It is not difficult to aware every diner came here just of this. Made by the secret curry recipe braise beef, then fill into a crunchy fresh baked farmer’s bread, top up with mozzarella cheese for extra mouth feel, which successfully to make every diner return for the taste for this dish.

In addition, Kam’s also sell homemade moon cake at mid-autumn festival, around August to the end of September. Kam’s moon cakes were a bit different from traditional. They use Chinese style cured ham and mixed nut instead of egg yolk. It makes different layers of favor enjoying in one bite! It is one of the best souvenir in Central and West District.
