I had a bad experience Ruby Tuesday Hong Kong today. I wanted to try their new Kale salad, but I wanted some chicken added to it. I normally get the Caesar salad with cajun chicken. The salad offers other meats for different charges ($20-40 difference in range) with their Caesar salad, e.g with fried chicken, shrimp and salmon, so I was hoping I could get cajun chicken with the Kale Salad. The waiter said I could do that and I got what I wanted a Kale Salad with cajun chicken. However, I was qu
However, I was quite disappointed when I got the bill. The Kale Salad was $198 as listed (which is pretty expensive for a salad to begin with). However, I was charged $198 for a cajun chicken breast. The problems I had with that is that the Caesar Salad with cajun chicken is $168. So why am I paying $30 more for less meal?! Honestly, I was thinking it would be about $100 for the chicken breast since it wasn't a full meal, but I didn't ask and the waiter didn't alert me to the cost.
They did agree to reduce the charge of the chicken to $168, the cost of the Caesar salad with cajun chicken (even though I didn't technically get 2 full meals/salads), but I still find it bad business or unethical to charge it that way, especially when I've been one of their members for 2 years now. Besides, if indeed they are charging a side side of chicken for $198 (same price as my salad), shouldn't the waiter check with me first?
