Long time no hotel buffet. To celebrate happy Friday, the destination for hotel buffet this time was 德福閣 Stanford Cafe @ 仕德福酒店. We did not want to spend a fortune and picked this hotel which seemed to be quite economical. For lunch buffet, price was $228 per head. There was a 25% discount so that it was $194 per head including service charge. 仕德福酒店 was quite a modern hotel. We pressed M floor to get to Stanford Cafe by lift. It was quite busy for Friday lunch. 仕德福酒店 was quite a modern hotel. We pressed M floor to get to Stanford Cafe by lift. It was quite busy for Friday lunch. There was a long buffet table which covered sashimi, sushi, salads, appetisers, hot dishes, bread, soups, desserts, fruits and a pancake station. There was a separate ice-cream freezer and a drinks station. There was also a separate grilled lamb leg station and noodles station.
Sashimi (Salmon, 立魚, Octopus), Sushi, soba
There were 3 types of sashimi: Salmon, 立魚, Octopus. There were a few types of sushi, rolls and some soba. I just tried the sashimi and salmon was reasonably good.
Salads
The salad bar included sweetcorn, baby corn, beetroots, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, some fresh greens and some fruits.

Their appetisers counter was more appealing with quite a lot of variety from Japanese style to Chinese style or Western style. The Japanese Eggplant was very tasty and sweet. Their beans in Japanese-dressing were very fresh and crispy. Their Green Seaweed Chinese Style was quite tasty. The Shredded Chicken with Cucumber was not too spicy. Other appetisers included Salami Sausage, Beef, Vegetable Salad Japanese Style, Smoked Duck's Breast, Smoked Pork Fillet with Honey Mustard Sauce, Assorted Cold Cuts etc.
Hot dishes
For hot dishes, the roasted pork belly Korean Style was quite tasty with the Korean-style sweet and spicy sauce. I liked how their pork belly got bones which were good to chew! The Rendang beef was also reasonably tender and well seasoned. Other hot dishes included Baked Oyster in White Wine or Cheese and Tomato sauces, Deep-fried Salmon Head and Belly with Spiced Salt, Roasted Chicken Thai Style, Steamed Rice with Chinese sausage and Spare Rib, Pork Belly with Taro and Coconut Sauce, Shanghai Steamed Buns, Creamed Vegetables with Ham, Fried Hokkien Noodles. Next to the sashimi counter, there were actually some duck breasts with buns.

Couldn't believe they offered Grilled Lamb Leg. Quality was pretty nice. We ate a few rounds.
Hot Spicy Noodles
The grilled lamb leg station also offered hot spicy noodles. There was a small piece of paper for you to tick your choices. We were too full to try them. The toppings included shrimps, beef, balls, squid and sausages which looked quite pleasing. I saw many people ordering this.
Soup
There were 2 types of soup: Pork Bone Soup with Carrot & Radish, and Minestrone. There was also some bread which was placed in the middle of hot dishes but not close to soup.
Baked lobster
Baked lobster was not on the buffet table but each of us got served half a baked lobster. I really liked how there were loads of lobster paste on it - some were orange and some were green! The claws were easy to eat and were particularly fresh and meaty.
Desserts
Desserts were always one of the most important parts of a buffet!
They had a chocolate fountain and a number of cakes, including Marble Cheese Cake, Serradura, Peach and Butter Pound Cake, Mascarpone Cheese Cake, Mango Pudding, Black Sesame Agar Agar and Japanese Wakako etc. I tried their Mascarpone Cheese Cake which was surprisingly good with some burnt flavour from the bottom base.

Their Fresh Fruit Platter had watermelons, melons and pineapples. Quality was nice. There were also some grapes near the chocolate fountain.

They also had 楊枝甘露 which was so refreshing and not overly sweet with loads of yuzu, mango and sago. I had 2 bowls!
Their sweet tofu was 黑豆豆腐花. The black beans made the tofu less smooth but did enhance the flavour. My lunch partner had a few rounds.
Their ice-cream freezer had a few types of ice-cream which were made in HK. Flavours included Caramel Biscuit & Cream, Pineapple Coconut, Yakult, Sea Salt and Coffee. I tried caramel biscuit and cream, pineapple coconut and sea salt and they were not bad. There were 2 types of toppings including crushed nuts and chocolate chips.

Their pancake was fast to make so that you didn't need to spend a lot of time to line up. It was so thin and super smooth. There were loads of toppings included raisin, banana, cream. My favourite combo was peanut butter and 椰絲 which made it so tasty. I also added ice-cream + crushed nuts and some condensed milk to eat together. The hot & soft pancake + cold melting ice-cream with crunchy nuts was really really unbeatable. I had 4-5 rounds of pancakes! One thing to highlight was that the chef was really helpful to offer ideas of toppings for the pancake!
Drinks
The drinks counter was next to the ice-cream freezer with coffee or some prepared drinks in a big jar. My stomach was too full to try them out.
In gist, I had to emphasise that their pancake was really one of the best pancakes I had ever had. Very impressive pancakes. Service was quite attentive that used dishes were collected fast and the staff was generally quite friendly and helpful. We had a good time.
