Been to this branch a couple of times before, as it is a favourite spot among some of my acquaintances (who hold the chain's 50% off Premium Card). We booked for 7 pm but we had to wait for an hour from the booked time for some 14 of us to be seated at the long table at the back of the restaurant.
The gang ordered the following:
Fresh Garden Bar x 4 - complimentary 1 trip per entree at the time we visited. (I think now it's charged at $68 a trip according to the chain's online menu.)
I could hardly remember the last time I'd "played with" a salad bar, and so I was more than excited when I saw this! There were quite a wide range of toppings and condiments to build your salad, but the most crucial point was skill, according to my friend who was a regular patron of RT. The salad greens and fillings were fresh but needed more frequent refilling.
Build Your Own Sampler - Onion Rings, Calamari (which I had, which was just so-so and rather batter-y), Potato Skins and I-don't-know-what (didn't know which one my friends chose).
? kind of steak - my friend ordered medium rare (70%), I judged with my naked eye and thought was up to the point, and the eater enjoyed it pretty well. I had part of the baked potato on the side, well, that was good, and the only minor complaint about this dish was the vegs which were overly buttery.
Lobster Ravioli - didn't realise it was lobster until I looked at the menu...the ravioli skin was sort of tough and disappointingly not a lot more to write home about.
A Full Rack of Fork-Tender Ribs - as always this is the star of RT. This time I believe it was Classic Barbecue Sauce which went with the ribs. The meat was tender and could easily be detached from the bone, and there was a char-grilled flavour out of it when eaten with the barbecue sauce. I wish I could have more... However the mash (white cheddar mashed potatoes) that came with it wasn't too popular and I thought was worse than the baked potato.
Triple Play - half-rack of ribs, chicken tenders, Lousiana fried shrimp and baked potato - despite an extra helping of ribs I didn't have the chance to have it.
Premium Wagyu Cheddar Burger - another friend's choice. The patty looked juicy, I had the honour of sharing the chips which turned out to be quite tasty.
Complimentary Chocolate Tallcake (with a newspaper coupon) - a signature dessert here, it really looked HUGE! It was quite a sight indeed. Although the chocolate cake which filled the bottom of the glass was rich, there wasn't much ice cream or caramel sauce so the whole thing was on the dry side eventually.
A couple shared a Ruby Refersher. I think they had a MegaSize one (28 oz.) and the glass was larger than that of the Tallcake! The menu said it contained orange, pineapple, cranberry and pina colada and the drink looked pink. No special comment about the taste though.
Staff were friendly and helpful, in spite of the long waiting time once you get inside the service was actually okay. We had a brought-in birthday cake and the staff quickly got us new plates (don't know if they have a cake-cutting charge though), and they were happy to take photos for us.
