Mezze is a traditional Lebanese appetiser which is served hot or cold, and usually consists of sauces, salads and snacks. The lunch set will start with an appetiser soup, followed by a choice of 6 classic salads, so you can see which salad you can choose from now!
The classic Lebanese appetiser is the hummus, a mixture of chickpeas in a sesame sauce with lemon, garlic, olive oil, parsley and tomato. The simple bean paste is actually made with a combination of spices and is so rich and smooth.
Hummus Beiruti
Used to think of beans as bland and boring, but Lebanese cuisine has really changed that way of thinking. Like this fried chickpea cake, the first bite is a little bit hard and crunchy, but the top is full of chickpea paste, and it's good to eat with cheese sauce, it's a veggie dish full of Arabian flavour.
Falafel
Mainly made of kale, tomato and wheat, it is rich in flavour just by looking at the ingredients. With the addition of lemon juice for flavour, it is a refreshing and healthy dish.
