You can enjoy authentic Indian cuisine to your heart's content, as it turns out refined Indian dishes are quite exquisite. This "CHUTNEY" restaurant with an imperial ambiance is perfectly recreated by a foreign chef, and the hanging golden silk curtains at the entrance are simply gorgeous.
Special Set and 20% off
Now, "CHUTNEY" has set menus available both on weekends and weekdays!! It's just $148 per person, which includes appetizers, main dishes, desserts, and accompanying Indian-style flatbreads. While they call it an "appetizer", the portion size and quality are truly enticing. 20%off discount applied on every Sunday to Wednesday.
【Generous Appetizer Portions】
The appetizers in both the Sharabi Weekend Menu and the Chesshouse Summer Blast Menu are very abundant, and you can choose 1 out of the 3 options.
Bhalla Papdi Chaat
This Indian street food snack features crispy Indian flatbread topped with a generous drizzle of the fragrant Indian spice blend Chaat Masala, making it incredibly flavorful and delightfully crispy.
Squid
For those who love spicy food, the Spicy Squid is a must-try! It's fragrant, spicy, and lightly sweet - the heat really hits your taste buds right away. The squid pieces are also large and pleasantly chewy, with the spiciness building up with each bite, which is just so satisfying.
Keema Pav
The Keema Pav, which is essentially a main dish portion, is a very common dish in India. The bun is delightfully warm and soft, and you can scoop up the minced meat filling and enjoy them together, creating a wonderfully rich and fulfilling eating experience.
【Weekend Set Menu Main Courses】 + $68 Free-Flow Red & White Wine, Beer, Soft Drinks
Before looking at the main course options in the Sharabi Weekend Menu, be sure to note that for just an additional $68, you can enjoy free-flow red and white wine, beer, and soft drinks. If you plan on leisurely dining and socializing, remember to add this free-flow beverage option!
For the 3 main course options in the weekend set menu, all 3 are curry-based dishes that pair wonderfully with freshly baked Indian flatbreads. "CHUTNEY" has two large Tandoori ovens on-site, allowing them to freshly charcoal-grill the flatbreads, meats, and seafood. The Indian flatbreads you'll be enjoying today were just freshly baked in those ovens.
Chicken Changezi Masala
The Masala sauce contains a large amount of spices and chili peppers, giving it a very pronounced spicy kick. The texture and flavor of the sauce are incredibly rich and concentrated. The chicken has also absorbed a lot of the fragrant Masala seasoning, although the chicken pieces are quite large, making them a bit tricky to scoop up with the flatbread. I found it best to take a bite of the chicken and then follow it up with a bite of the bread dipped in the sauce - the combination is absolutely delicious.
Paneer Lababdar
This classic northern Indian curry features the addition of soft and creamy Paneer cheese. The curry has a slightly spicy kick, but is balanced by a delicate dairy aroma. As you eat it, the flavors of onions, tomatoes, and aromatic spices gradually unfold and meld together.
Dal Dilli Dhaba
This traditional Indian lentil-based curry features a complex blend of various beans and aromatic spices, resulting in a well-balanced flavor profile that is both sweet and savory. The layering of flavors is more nuanced compared to the intense spiced Chicken Changezi Masala, but still very satisfying.
【Weekday Set Menu Main Course】
For an additional $40, you can upgrade to include free-flow red and white wine, beer, and Mango Lassi.
For the Weekday Set Menu, there are two beverage upgrade options:
$40 to add free-flow red/white wine, beer, and Mango Lassi
$28 to add free-flow soft drinks, lime soda, and Masala Tea
These Happy Hour drink prices are really good value.
As for the 3 main course options, there is a Curry Chicken, a Curry Fish, and a Curry Corn selection. So there are options for both meat-eaters and vegetarian diners.
Chutney Butter Chicken
The signature "CHUTNEY" dish is always a crowd-pleaser. The locally-sourced yellow chicken is cooked to perfection, infusing the meat with a buttery flavor. The curry sauce isn't overly heavy or intense, but rather has a light sweetness and creamy dairy note to it. In fact, the curry sauce itself is so tasty that you could easily enjoy it on its own, even without the chicken.
Fish Chatpat Curry
In eastern India, there are many distinctive curry fish dishes. The fish fillets are first pan-fried until lightly crisp on the outside, then simmered together with an aromatic blend of spices, vegetables, and sauce. This cooking method results in fish that is delightfully crispy on the exterior yet wonderfully tender on the inside - a pleasant surprise compared to more typical fish curry preparations.
Asparagus Corn Masala
A perennially popular vegetarian curry option features an abundance of aromatic Indian spices in the preparation. Upon the first bite, you'll be greeted by the smooth, velvety curry sauce. This is then complemented by the refreshing sweetness of the corn. It's a wonderfully light and invigorating dish, perfect for enjoying during the summer season.
