Situated on the second floor of LKF Tower, Cassio is teaming up with London-based tapas bar Barrafina to serve their popular contemporary bites in this dark dungeon-like setting.

Stuffed chicken wings ($128) - Our meal got off to a fast start with a pair of deep-fried chicken wings which were stuffed with diced prawns, mushrooms and zucchini.

This looked almost exactly like the Chinese version of stuffed chicken wings. Obviously it took a lot of work putting the fillings in and making it right. I thought it was decent but the whole thing was a bit limpy and under-seasoned.

Classic tortillas ($88) - I decided to jump all over this since I'm a tortilla freak. The Japanese eggs were runny as advertised but it didn't fair as well as the one I had at El Cerdo last week. That was a bit sad considering it cost twice as much!

Spanish carabinero ($248) - Large torched red prawn served on a pool of tangy seafood bisque was easily the best dish of the night mainly because of the relatively weak competition.

Once the bread cubes got dipped into the bisque, they became the most delicious pieces of bread on the face of the earth!

Juicy seafood rice ($178) - Perhaps the second best dish of the night if you ask me. Very fragrant with lots of stuff including cuttlefish, clams and carabinero on top of the Calasparra paella rice.

Iberico pork ribs ($178) - Tempers started to flare when everyone tried to fight over these three little pieces of Iberico pork ribs. Luckily, no punches thrown.

Okay, kidding aside I thought this was another decent dish (though I was expecting more than just decent here). I was fortunate enough to get a piece and found the 12-hour slow cooked rib to be fairly tender although a little under-seasoned once again (You won't be able to tell from the color of the sauce).

Spanish sirloin ($188) - Size-wise, this looked much much better. I really enjoyed this piece of 8-years rubia gallega beef for the wonderfully rich flavors. The combination with mashed potato and tempranillo sauce was spot on.

Due to the rather unpredictable portion sizes, we figured there's no point of ordering more food here because 4 to 5 more tapas might still leave us half-full anyways. So we decided to settle the bill and head somewhere else for Round Two.

What's funny was that all the while our waitress has been asking us to order more food, and at the same time trying to get us to leave our table right after we ordered our second round.

When we got downstairs and checked the time, it was only fifteen minutes later than our supposed return time. So sorry for wasting fifteen minutes of your time even though we were actually trying to spend more money at your restaurant.

I have dined in fine restaurants in major cities all over the world and I have never been treated with such rude and patronizing service. Will never return.

I had the Cassio lemon which was strawberries in macerated Sherry vinegar, basil, compressed citrus and soda water.

Boy you can really taste the vinegar in it.

Dining at the bar table can be very distracting because Sebastian is really good looking that it is hard to focus on the food and remember the how it tastes!!!!

(For the whole night I kept looking down at the table to stay focused!!)

Croquetas with a twist filled with silky seafood bisque bechamel and pieces of springy prawn.

It was beautiful how the flower was stuffed with crab and then lightly fried.

Inside the filling was rich and tasty complemented by the baby sweet courgette.

Marinated olives:

There were three types of olives gordal, manzanilla and kalamata.

Spanish red prawns always taste good, they don't need any special seasoning.

You get bread to dip that delicious sauce so don't forget to squeeze the head for the best bit!

spinach pear salad:

A nice mix of pomegranite, balsamic vinegar, pecan nuts and Idiazabal cheese.

Classic potato omelette:

There are three different omelettes that they serve and they are must order items because the inside is runny so you won't find another tortilla like that unless it gets copied.

A deliciously simple omelette made with fine eggs and potatoes.

Hong Kongers love chicken wings so Cassio has searched their recipes for chicken wing related dishes and created this.
They are juicy wings stuffed with prawn, mushrooms and zucchini.

vegetable menestra:
As a veggie lover, I loved this because it was vegetables in a foie gras stock which is not as heavy as you would think.

It had my favourite romanesco and okra.

Nicely done. With a good portioning of rubbed Garlic, Tomatoes, Olive Oil and some chopped Herbs on aerated bread. Forgot how much this is and will have to go back to re-check the Menu prices..

Jamon Croquetas -

The Bechamel sauce within to me isn't starchy or consistent enough with what I eat in Spain, and the Jamon Ham pieces were a little weak, especially when compared to Spain itself and El Cerdo in HK - I would barely give these ones a pass.. ~ 6/10

Courgette Zucchini Flower Blossom Tempura, filled with Crab Meat, Mushrooms, with a Spicy Tomato Sauce -

Another weakish dish on this visit. The tempura method was a little too soft, and there wasn't enough Crab taste this time. The life saver was actually the spicy tomato sauce ! This was also too small in portions. ~ 6.9/10

Spanish Carabinero Prawn - $248

I saw that a lot of people say why this is pretty expensive for a just a single prawn, but as a supplier myself I have to this one was of a Jumbo size and really expensive to source. From a business point of view, may be the Customers expect at least 2 prawns but of a smaller size.. That base Bisque like sauce was super intense and likable by the way. Price issues aside, this was excellently executed ~ 9/10

Gambas al Ajillo - Prawns with Garlic and Olive Oil

This isn't as EVOO bubbly as the traditional formulae, and this time around the Fried Prawn Legs were taken off during our night of visit, replaced by fried Garlic chips. This is their Signature Dish here. ~7.5/10

Churros with Chocolate Ice Cream, Chocolate Dip -

The one at El Cerdo is definitely the one to beat in Hong Kong. If that is a 9/10, here I would give it a 7/10 as it is a bit too dense and the Chocolate dip was quite floury, compared to the Drinkable ones in Spain, Austria, etc.
