We finally got to try Kintaro Lab, a new restaurant in Tai Kok Tsui serving authentic himokawa udon, on our third attempt. Dinner hours are from 6-9PM, and the queue got cut off at around 7:30PM with the waitress handing a card to the last person in line. Although the menu is quite limited in terms of variety, there are 3 types of himokawa udon you can choose from:
(1) Tsuke Himokawa (hot): like tsukemen, you dip the cold udon noodles into a separate bowl of hot broth 
(2) Tsuke Himokawa (cold): similar as above, but you dip into cold sauces
(3) Himokawa udon (hot): the udon is served in hot soup

Himokawa is a kind of udon noodles that are like a piece of paper - thin yet wide. Due to the large size and slippery texture,the struggle is real when using chopsticks!

We got the Curry Nanban Tsuke Himokawa Udon, which had 7 sheets of chewy and elastic udon. The rich Japanese-style curry was not spicy while the chicken chunks were tender. The only thing is that the cold udon made the hot curry broth cool very quickly (especially under the blasting AC), so be sure to eat quickly if you don’t want to eat cold noodles.

As the two udons were quite limited in terms of ingredients, we got the tempura as a side dish. It came with some salt to dip in, which added some seasoning to the shrimp, pumpkin, carrot, mushroom and eggplant. I quite liked the fact that the crispy tempura was not coated in layers of batter, nor was it super oily.


Food-wise, the only downside is that the portion was not super fulfilling, and you may need to go somewhere else for dessert afterwards, which we heard a couple say when they left the restaurant.

每次途徑呢間新日本烏冬店都見到大排長龍,今次大概等左20分鐘到終於都有得食!由於本人係稻庭烏冬控,所以對於有特色既烏冬都會好奇寶寶上身想馬上試!今次呢間新開日式烏冬店主打就係呢款白布方形烏冬,提供熱湯,冷烏冬和沾烏冬!最後挑選了鴨肉沾烏冬。整個擺設吸引,白布烏冬係冷上,沾上少許wasabi再浸入鴨肉湯。白布烏冬的質感好豐富,掛湯,而且特別鍾愛烏冬帶有煙硬彈牙的口感。但鴨肉湯略嫌唔夠熱,呷第一口湯已經唔熱,鴨胸肉還可以,值得一提,湯內的茄子煎得相當香,好似係日本食到既感覺!下次經過見到唔使排太耐隊都可以一試啊!

整個擺設吸引,白布烏冬係冷上,沾上少許wasabi再浸入鴨肉湯。白布烏冬的質感好豐富,掛湯,而且特別鍾愛烏冬帶有煙硬彈牙的口感。但鴨肉湯略嫌唔夠熱,呷第一口湯已經唔熱,鴨胸肉還可以,值得一提,湯內的茄子煎得相當香,好似係日本食到既感覺!

烏冬本身係凍嘅 湯就熱既 一浸一食會令到湯好快變凍
然後烏冬真係好煙韌 不過浸左落湯入面
烏冬既煙韌感會稍微下降 但都係好好食😵

另有大蔥及茄子等
白布烏冬比想像中厚 口感幾煙韌
不過食起上嚟就幾狼狽😖
都係要撕做一條條咁食😂

店面裝修神秘,黑實的外牆望唔到裏面嘅情況 ,等了大半個鐘,終於可以一嘗人生中從未試過嘅白布烏冬。 內心充滿期望,最後揀咗個打左星號嘅雞肉沾麵和山藥冷盤。食物外觀一流,白布烏冬份量唔算少,先試雞肉湯,湯甜度較高, 像壽喜燒的味道, 然後 由於揸筷字嘅功力唔夠同白布size較大,需要花盡九牛二虎之力先可以夾穩白布烏冬, 質地似比較厚身嘅雲吞皮,但比較滑潤, 味道跟普通烏冬差唔多。 山藥亦都感覺新鮮,配上wasabi同枱頭嘅七味粉,再用白布夾住食都幾好味。 整體感覺唔錯,服務都好,不時有加茶, 服務員態度親切 ,不過都係鍾意食 一條條嘅烏冬多啲, 咬口會更加豐富, 不過未試過嘅都可以不妨一試, 一塊大大嘅百布可以自由發揮左切右切, 再自由配搭不同嘅配料, 滿足又食又揮灑創意嘅慾望。

餐廳都唔算難搵,見到黑色型格外牆就係佢啦

!但略嫌啲雞肉有啲「鞋」
⋯但係都唔緊要,反正主角係烏冬
!一碗有八塊烏冬,第一個感覺係:嘩!好得意!但應該唔飽⋯?
出乎意料之外,食完都幾飽肚!烏冬煙煙韌韌,似厚版雲吞皮?定似薄版年糕?係好新穎好有趣既質地!

【雞肉入沾白布烏冬】 HKD86依間位於大角咀嘅金所,開業冇耐每日都keep住長長嘅人流,事關佢主打嘅白布烏冬實在係非常特別,屬於群馬縣嘅特產,係香港🇭🇰少見嘅美食。店內位置唔多,目測十五十六個位🪑左右,我地5點半黎到排隊,岩岩好趕得徹係6點第一輪入座,6點半左右已經聽到店員👩🏻‍🍳話截龍。黎到戲肉,果然烏冬同佢所講一樣,好似白布一樣😂,而且晶瑩剔透,非常滑溜,滑到好難夾得起🥢。沾一沾以海帶、鰹魚、大蔥、醬油等材料製成湯底,啖啖甜絲絲嘅感覺,濃而不膩。烏冬過過冷河寧舍彈牙,雞粒🐥亦有燒過嘅香氣。總括黎講,係幾特別,有質素👍🏻。不過唔好諗住會夠填飽肚🤣。而且烏冬浸過熱湯♨️後,湯唔係變暖咁簡單,係直頭凍冰冰🧊,希望日後有所改善。

總括黎講,係幾特別,有質素👍🏻。不過唔好諗住會夠填飽肚🤣。而且烏冬浸過熱湯♨️後,湯唔係變暖咁簡單,係直頭凍冰冰🧊,希望日後有所改善。
