This place has got the balls to serve !!! So finally gave them a visit.

The menu before was better because they had roast suckling pig meatballs.

今天是NOM第一天提供lunch set。HK$178, 頭盤主菜甜品飲品,不用加一。以NOM稍稍偏遠的地點來說,不算便宜,不容易吸引街客。不過看過午餐的份量和試過味道,又覺得這個價錢很值得。老實說,我寧願NOM 把份量收細一點,把定價下調一點,應該可以吸引更多好奇的中環客吧。

先說main course。真的非常好吃,完全沒有令我失望! 更竟有點老懷安慰,完全是兒女沒有辜負父母的安心感。有夠奇怪的,但我已經找不到更合適的比喻去形容我的心情。(掩面)

也是岩岩遇著剛剛,三人同行,這碟意粉恰恰就有三件meatballs, 不用分。牛肉剁成的肉丸有嬰兒的拳頭大,中心呈嫩粉紅色,肉質彈牙又充滿牛香。真是每咬一口都是享受。意粉不是常見的5號粉, 估計是7號? 煮得口感偏硬一點。同行的友人不太欣賞, 但我倒還是接受的。

不過這個pasta最好吃的地方是醬汁無誤! 入口除了蕃茄香之外就是濃濃的Parmesan cheese香和肉香, 非常、非常的濃郁。微微的有粘性不會水汪汪, 剛好可以均勻地沾在意粉之上。食完意粉, 碟子可以是乾乾淨淨的, 不會有醬汁留下。

沒想到酥皮竟然是如此的薄。但薄得來卻是極端的香脆。本以為會是和所有Sausage roll一樣, 都是酥皮為主肉為副(純個人感覺), 但它里頭實實在在的, 全 部 都 是 羊 肉! 看份量就覺得lunch set的定價是沒有收太貴了。羊肉不算多汁, 不會把酥皮浸得濕漉漉的, 但入口又不會覺得肉很乾, 帶香濃的羊騷味, 非常的好吃。

好羊者配goat curd 同吃, 更多一重層次。而一旁的青豆蓉混入了少量的薄荷, 即使不愛薄荷如我, 也覺得薄荷的清爽香和羊肉菜式是一個很絕妙的平衡配搭。青豆蓉冰冰凍凍的, 也是為了突顯出薄荷的清涼吧。也是和羊肉卷的溫熱, 形成了一個對比。

對NOM午餐的份量沒有概念, 第三個主菜我們點了risotto。本以為蘑菇risotto會是一個比較清新的選擇, 但沒想到它的香濃程度絕不比另外兩個主菜輸蝕。NOM用上的pancetta 意大利煙肉都是比較肥的, 在這碟risotto之中你會找到不少透明的、方方正正的小粒粒, 口感有點堅韌, 咬下, 就有少量油花擠出 -- 對, 就是豬油啊! 難怪整體味道是如此的香純!

和平日吃到的mushroom risotto 不一樣, 味道不以忌廉為主而是以豬油作靈魂, 實在是令人又愛又恨。也幸好蘑菇加得很多, 而且更是以大片大片的形狀加入risotto之中, 取個平衡, 讓人死心踏地的一口口吃下肚子去。若果你怕胖, 又或者是吃素的, 這碟Risotto也可以轉做素菜的。

然後我們回頭說一說NOM的starters。大概是剛剛開始做午餐, 份量抓得不太準確, 每一份starter都非常的大份! 量之多, 甚至比好些餐廳的main course更加可觀。 Sharing一流, 自己一個吃嗎, 就太悶蛋了。而且吃完之後再吃main course真的有點兒吃力啦!

看材料就令我不期然想起在 GABA Concept 吃過的salad, 也是用上了藜麥quinoa和南瓜作主要食材, 但出來的效果是完全不一樣: NOM的要好吃太多了! Quinoa 還是一貫的有小泡泡一顆顆的口感, 不過NOM用醬料把合種材料混合之後, 就沒有了鬆鬆散散的口感。除了Quinoa本身堅果的香氣之外, 還吃到疑似花生香呢。南瓜選料上佳, 烘烤得柔軟而甜美, 配搭香氣霸道的羊奶芝士, 就成了這個個性獨特的前菜。

意外地我們三人最喜愛的都是Green bean salad。小時候討厭吃青豆是因為不喜歡雪藏青豆的草腥味以及那硬硬的口感, 每每見到它們都要撒手擰頭。不過長大了才知道煮得好吃的青豆才不會硬也不會腥呢。這盤綠油油的沙律除了青豆粒粒, 還用上了荷蘭豆及Snap bean, 陣容也蠻嚇人的吧, 但入口才發現味道真的很棒。雖然是有一點油油的但依然很清新, 意想不到的是橙肉竟然和豆子可以成為好朋友, 有畫龍點睛的效果。三款豆子都煮得偏軟身一點, 因此加入了烤香了的榛子去提香及增加口感。整個starter的結構非常嚴謹, 是必試之選呢。對我來說, 就算以此為主食也無不可呢。

這是我第一次聽也是第一次吃bulgur, 但相信對各位素食人來說不會太陌生。對我來說bulgur 和quinoa 都非常的類似, 高纖維、低脂、低卡路里, 飽肚之餘不會胖, 是keep kit恩物。不過口感和味道就很不同。個人覺得bulgur的口感似是切碎了的米粒, 有一點點的硬身, 味道卻是淡淡的粟米味! NOM的調味蠻香的, 不會很濃。配上柔軟的魷魚很新奇呢。份量又是再一次的超巨大, 肚量小的人, 吃完這份前菜是絕不可能吃得下主菜啊。

前菜和主菜之後, 還有甜品和飲品在等著你。就算吃得多撐也好, 也會被這一個甜品所吸引。

當然你可能會覺得, 以小麵包夾雪糕都不是甚麼新鮮事啦, 很多餐廳都有在供應啊? 但NOM的ice cream slider 除了夾入雲尼拿雪糕之外, 更加有糖漬布冧在里面。味道有點點似加應子之味, 頗為新穎有趣。小麵包亦非常鬆軟可口。以此作結, 完美了。

如果你問, 這一餐算不算完美? 當然不是。始終剛剛才開始run lunch menu, 相信NOM也有很多地方要作fine tune, 例如時間控制之類要多加留意。午餐和晚市最大的分別就在時間吧。無論我們多想慢慢去享受大廚精心炮製的食物, 身為打工仔還是被緊緊午餐時間所捆綁啊。

但今次lunch吃過, 我很想回來再吃, 吃個可以悠悠閒閒, 細嚼慢嚐的晚餐!

Out of all dishes, this is my favorite one! Little balls of risotto stuffed with wild mushroom. They don't look super-amazing but these crispy balls just TASTE SO SCRUMPTIOUS!!! The strong flow of truffle aroma and Taleggio sauce added an intensity in the dish and brought all the flavors together.

And so, we come here not only for meatballs but….

The sliders are served with home made chips. This is definitely a dish to salivate over with chewy prawn patty going perfectly with the melt-in-you-mouth foie gras. I couldn’t taste much of the beetroot relish but see that little pinkish bun, so cute

I have been wanting to try their lemon tart for a loooooooong time. With a slight sprinkling of coffee and cardamon gelato, and the creamy-smooth-but-not-too-sweet lemon custard, I JUST WANT MORE AND MORE AND MORE!!! (And indeed, the portion was slightly smaller than I expected)

NOM sticks to the classics yet dishes are presented in a modern and creative way. With Italian influenced décor, the space is divided into the bar and dining area, perfect place to be with close friends (or foodiessss)!!

看過其他食家的食評,心知那些應該點,那些可以不試。第一份,便點了這個burrata;同一款食物,在不同時侯來吃,都會有所不同的。看過其他食家的burrata,那流心程度實在不錯,但我這天這個的流心程度則不太夠,外層比較實在,但味道方面還不錯,帶有芝士味的;而Panzanella的味道亦做得不錯,帶有輕輕的酸,嚐得到當中包含了很多不同的材料,味道上做得不錯,佔上那麵包,頗美味的,亦很開胃。

來到這裡,沒可能不吃meatball吧? 牛魔女的我,連meatball也要點牛;beef meatball的的肉質璧散中帶實在,肉的大小也做得剛剛好,不會太大粒,亦不會像免治一樣。味道也能清楚嚐到那牛味;而底下的Paccheri pasta味道亦不錯,Neapolitan ragout酸酸的,開開胃吧;不過其實這天不需要開胃,因為約了8:30pm用餐,但其他人大遲到下,我也餓到暈底了。

NOM除了有不同款式的meatball外,亦提供了多款pizza,有選擇困難症的我,想了很久才決定到要甚麼....最後選了一款tuffle和一款ham。

先說這個truffle,味道上沒想像的好吃,單看照片,都會覺得不夠mushroom,所以味道上不夠強烈,而且沒甚麼sauce,來得有點乾身。

相比之下,parma ham這個比truffle好得多了,parma ham新鮮美味,鹹香度亦適中,味道亦濃郁;塗上了蕃茄醬,所以沒有truffle那個乾身,火煎菜亦很新鮮;這裡的pizza底做得其實不錯的,頗香脆的,亦帶有麵粉香,是值得一試的。(Must-Try)

先說beef cheek,我是beef cheek的忠實粉絲,煮得好的話,便帶有膠質,十分軟腍;而NOM的,沒有令我失望,很軟腍,用叉也可以拆散,味道帶輕輕的甜;而risotto,則一般吧,熟度是我喜歡的那種,但略嫌不夠煙韌,不過還可以吧。

用上了北海道的帶子,熟度做得剛剛好,外層帶輕輕的脆,內裡帶點生,肉質很彈牙,帶子本身鮮味亦強,用上了black ink,鮮味則更強;而pancetta的鹹香,亦增添了不少的味道。(Must-Try)

整個menu上的食物不算超多,我們亦點了不少的食物;不是每款食物都做得很美味,但大致上還是不錯的;而價錢方面,不算便宜的,我們一行7人,每人大約$370,但其實大家都吃得不算飽,只不過時間上不太許可,所以沒有再點其他食物了。

薄餅邊位香脆,餅身則鬆化軟糯,配上充滿咸香的巴馬火腿,實在是美味滿載

for the price we paid...I expected a lot more...meatballs were much smaller than I thought they would be - about the size of ping pong balls. and for a place that prides themselves on having good meatballs...they didn't have the staple of spaghetti and meatballs...sad...pizzas were pretty good though, definitely recommend trying theseservice is pretty slow as well overall disappointment

先上了麵包, 一點都不欺場的喔~!麵包是自己做的, 牛油也是, 大廚為了讓牛油味道更豐富,還打了黑橄欖泥在無鹽牛油當中, 讓牛油的味道多了一層橄欖的鹹跟香,特別又好吃

一定要試他們的coldcut platter, 是我吃過最好吃的~! 有五種:
1. 33-month, organic Parma ham 2. Organic black pig shoulder 3. Salame romagnolo bees wax preserved 4. Spigaroli culatello di Zibello 5.Mortadella di Bologna
大廚在端這個凍肉拼盤是, 語重心長的為我們介紹很多有關於這些coldcut的來源. 他叫我們去查一種叫Mora Romagnola的豬種, 這些豬吃的都是有機糧食, 不會亂餵牠們, 所以牠們的肉質都會帶了些肉甜, 油香十足, 也不會過鹹, 每一口每一塊都是無與倫比的美味! 已打算再去吃了

Black ink tagliatelle | Baby squid | Sea urchin | Hazelnut墨汁闊條麵, 彈牙非常, al dente質感大家都很喜歡. 魷魚是用上很小隻的那種, 更見鮮甜, 海膽做成了醬汁, 一整個吃起來就是鮮味滿逸. 最特別的是用上了臻子做配搭, 常吃臻子味道的甜點, 做鹹食的還是第一次嚐試, 味道亦不錯呢

Chargrilled octopus | Potato cream | Grilled artichokes | Olive powder | Chorizo本身我沒有很喜歡西吃八爪魚, 覺得外國人弄的都不好吃. 但這個我卻覺得不錯喔, 八爪魚相信是很大一隻, 我們只吃牠的腳, 很大一條, 肉質一點都不韌,蠻嫩的但又不實彈牙. 薯泥做的鮮奶油配八爪魚會比光吃的美味. 雅枝竹是選用新鮮的, 沒有先醃過的那些酸, 整體我覺得也蠻好吃的

Beef / Neapolitan ragout / Paccheri pasta/ricotta cheese來NOM, 當然要試試他們的肉丸, 大廚是意大利人, 他說他這個做法是他祖母傳給他的, 100%正宗地道. 吃起來有很濃的牛肉香, 牛豬佔的比例以牛佔最多, 肉跟麵包只有9:1, 麵包下的少, 肉味自然更濃.傳統的就已經這麼好吃了. 下面的意大利麵釀了ricotta芝士, 配上番茄醬汁, 也是很美味呢!

為什麼會叫做Not Only Meatballs? 有兩個意思的, 1. 就是他們肉丸以外也有其他美食 2. 就是因為除了最傳統的口味, 這裡總共有六款的肉丸, 連素的也有喔, 這款是雞肉, 我覺得也蠻好吃的, 裡面的刁草很提味, 適合喜歡吃白肉的朋友, 芝士醬汁很惹味, 下面的蘆筍也好吃

這款烤豬的肉丸絕對是整晚的一大亮點! 一顆肉丸混合了烤豬脆皮, 豬肉絲, 還有我們一般吃到的香菜, 質感帶脆而肉質很滑嫩, 味道帶有烤豬本身的鹹香, 一定要試這個, 超推薦的!

這個海鮮肉丸也是我另一推薦的! 是用魚肉跟其他海鮮去打的, 很鮮甜, 醬汁也用不同的新鮮海鮮去煮的, 難怪只有這道會特地附了一些麵包給我們去蘸, 就是滿滿的海鮮味道, 讚!

肉丸也能當成漢堡肉喔~! 這款Slider是以這樣的概念做成的,每個小小的漢堡包裡的內容絕不簡單. 用上澳洲的上等和牛, 一口咬下去感覺和牛很嫩, 牛肉的味道也是濃, 不過就跟剛吃到的傳統肉丸有點不一樣,茄醬是用上上好的番茄去熬煮的, 還有我很愛吃的brie cheese, 好吃慘了. 我也很喜歡這個

這裡的pizza也是會讓我一來再來的, 大廚只選了兩種優質麵粉來做餅底, 厚度不會太薄也不會太厚, 他說他喜歡做這樣子的薄餅, 我超愛他們的薄餅底的, 厚薄剛好而帶點煙韌. 上面的配料太讚了, 黑松露也是特地入口的, 還有自製手工香腸, 也有兩款芝士一起吃, 大家都讚不絕口

兩款甜點我都很喜歡, 這個是杏仁餅乾, 是他們自己手工去烤的, 看到那些用叉子戳的小洞洞覺得很漂亮很有homemade的感覺. 餅乾很酥脆, mascarpone非常滑溜, 很好吃呢!

愛吃檸檬撻的我更不能錯過這裡的lemon tart, 檸檬很夠酸, 質感也不會硬. cardamom是一種香料, 通常喝印度茶或吃完晚餐他們都會端上cardamom給客人吃來清清口腔的味道, gelato有點冰涼的薄荷感覺, 還有很討喜的香料甜味. 絕對是一個完美的結束
花了很多時間, 終於寫完了, 呼~ 但邊打文章的同時心情是快樂的, 因為所有東西都很好吃, 一邊打一邊回味著. 很欣賞大廚對食材跟烹調的用心, 一定會再來!

For dinner, we ordered a selection of dishes to share. NOM's menu has meatballs, a selection of ala carte items, and pizza. Being our first time here, we didn't know what the portion sizes were like, and under-ordered. The wait staff were still pretty green and gave us poor indications of what the sizes would be - "Uh, not large, but not small" Me: ???

Anyway, meatballs come in threes, while the ala carte items are tapas/starter portions. We didn't order pizza.

Wonderful gamut of textures and the cheese imparting an earthy saltiness to the mix. This which was meant to be a side. But we had it on the table for ages before the next item arrived, so had it as a starter.

The scallops were sweet and fresh and paired well with pancetta as it normally does, but rather on the small side. The raw cauliflower were very prettily cut but didn't do much for the dish.

I was pleasantly surprised as I thought this would be more of a tomato salad, but turned out to be more of a prawn dish. This had light, summery flavours, which was great as a refreshing starter. By now I realised there wasn't going to be a distinction between starters and mains, so I was glad that some thought had been given to the order of our dishes. (I think.)

These were chockful of crab, and encased in a light, breaded shell. They were really crabcakes in another form. The coffee mayo was interesting but I wasn't sure it complemented the crab all that well. The zucchini fries were a tad soggy and bland. But the balls, wow.

Amaze-balls. Loved the richness of the beef meatballs and the classic combination of tomato and cheese. Like how mama used to make them (if I had an Italian mama.)

These were an off the menu item which we hassled the owner for ;) They were very fresh, and grilled just right with minimal seasoning. 

Apparently if you called ahead and asked what they had in the fridge that day, they could do off the menu specials for you. The table next to us had a pre-ordered bistecca, which looked wonderful. 

I really enjoyed the meatballs and would return to try more of those. The cocktail list here is pretty interesting and extensive too, so I can see myself coming in to the bar for casual bites and a good tipple. Hopefully by then they'd have ironed out the teething problems with service. the owner, Ricky, is really friendly and good with recommendations though!

香煎北海道帶子、伴以茄子、椰菜花、煙肉和墨魚汁, 3.5/5
整晚最出色的菜式是這款香煎北海道帶子。菜式擺設得十分整齊和漂亮,配菜的茄子、椰菜花、煙肉和墨魚汁也為鮮甜的帶子帶出不同的口味。

個人頗為喜歡這道菜,只是略嫌配料的味道稍為霸道了一點,有少許跟帶子的鮮味對著幹。

墨魚汁寬條麵、配小魷魚、海膽、榛子, 2/5
當然要試試這裡的意粉,可惜有點失望。從兩款選擇當中,點了墨魚汁寬條麵,但寬條麵缺乏嚼勁,墨魚汁的味道亦不明顯,心裡已打定輸數。

再試下去,發覺所説的海膽味道也完全找不到,相反較為突出的是一股淡淡的蕃茄香 (但菜牌之中,沒有提及蕃茄。)。
