Met boyfriend here after he got off work. Telling him I wanted to try it but the Causeway Bay branch was always so empty, I was always wary to try. The small little restaurant served various Japanese dishes like omurice, curry rice, udon, etc and all come in sets with gyoza.
Boyfriend and I ordered two sets but since I didn't want to eat 6 gyoza on my own, we ordered one without a set.
Boyfriend had the egg with pork cutlet rice set so it came with miso soup and gyoza. Pork cutlet was thin and fried so long, it was tough to bite into. Boyfriend had the miso and said it was very salty. And he usually doesn't think anything is too salty, so it must be too salty. Gyoza was pretty good but nothing amazing. Felt like your typical gyoza you get from the frozen packs. Which is where they probably came from as you can buy the frozen packs from them.
I ordered the omurice with Japanese hamburger. At first, they gave me the gyoza set but after correcting them, they just whipped away the miso soup and gyoza immediately with just an "ok". No questions asked. I was afraid the hamburger would be huge, but when it arrived it was pretty small. Omurice was strange as it was not on a plate like regular omurice but just put in a bowl. So basically you get a lot of rice. Egg was soft and fluffy. Hamburger was rather dry and not fluffy like other Japanese hamburger. I felt the demi glaze sauce had a bitter aftertaste.
Wasn't very good but not horrible. However, I felt like I was paying for fast food but with service charge.
Won't return.
