Among all Chinese cuisines Sichuan is my favorite, so I came with high expectations.  Unfortunately the food was disappointing. The dished are very much adjusted to Southern Chinese/Western tastes - to sweet, not spicy enough and they totally fail to deliver the complex, multi-layerd flavor that makes Sichuan food so great. The "water-boiled-beef" was by a margin the worst I ever had - very shallow flavor and a lot of ingredient that don't belong there (e.g. mushrooms). Also very pricy for the quality.

我們是第一次光顧這間餐廳,所以一打開餐牌就依著‘廚師推薦’的足跡去點菜,點的5道菜里有3個都是推薦菜式,本來想環境好的餐廳可能味道欠奉,沒想到食物水準居然超出我們的預期,有點小驚喜
~

第一道冷菜是 【口水雞】-麻辣級別為中辣 HK$80:

川菜里的傳統菜式,鮮嫩的雞肉被豐富的辣椒滿滿地覆蓋著,還散發著一陣芝麻香,雞肉連皮和辣椒一起吃滑而不油,一塊落肚意猶未盡,很多愛川菜的港人應該能接受中辣程度。這第一道冷菜吃下去,味蕾馬上就打開了,這裡的上菜速度不算快,我們已開始期待下一道菜的到來。。。

第二道是【姜牛】- 麻辣級別為小辣 HK$125:

這道也是廚師推薦,單看菜名似乎對烹飪方法毫無端倪,直覺上應該是比較創意的做法。一上來分量似乎太‘精緻’,不過味道驚喜度拿高分。雖然沒有姜的味道,但炸過的牛肉入口松化卻不失嚼勁,香酥可口,配菜胡蘿蔔切條也給味道了點綴了些許甜度,味道豐富,不能吃太辣的朋友們必試

第三道主角出場【油潑香水魚】- 麻辣級別為大辣 HK$210:

美其名曰‘油潑香水魚’,比傳統川菜里的‘水煮魚’更添一份香口感,熱辣辣的香油潑在新鮮的魚片上,沸騰感十足,再加上豐富的配菜,如紅薯粉,芽菜,芹菜和香菜等,滿江紅里原來是內有乾坤。可能沒有加入過多的花椒,所以麻度不足但卻辣香四溢。但提醒大家,這道菜真。的。很。辣!連我這個自信滿滿的愛辣者也被打敗了,邊吃邊喝水
,如果你願意感受大汗淋漓的豪放感,那麼就放膽去吃吧!

第四道【孜然豬仔骨】 - 麻辣級別為中辣 HK$130:

有點像之前吃過的蒜香骨,只是這個孜然味比較重,有點令人容易上癮的感覺。看賣相已經迫不及待想拿起豬仔骨啃個痛快,嘿嘿,吃川菜你就準備將淑女形象暫且拋諸腦後吧~ 味道嘛,不過不失,吃起來肉少骨多,甘脆可口,香味十足,如果配上香檳或啤酒能吃的更加滋味。

第五道【魚香什菇】- 麻辣級別為大辣 HK$110:

最後少不了來個素菜嘛,什菇可是既便宜又健康的蔬菜,外表平平無奇卻能做出千變萬化的菜式,還可以去脂減肥。可惜,我們全都低估了這道菜的麻辣程度,魚香醬爆炒什菇味道濃郁,我們只能配上一碗香米飯減淡辣味帶啦的衝擊。吃到這兒雖然感覺各個菜的分量都不多,但其實已經微飽了:)。

最後,值得一提的是餐廳的服務水準,所有的服務生都非常親切有禮貌,訓練有素。餐廳定位是在中高檔,不同於三希樓和駿景軒帶來的傳統地道川式料理,這裡的菜式在傳統的辣椒香之上融入了西式料理的精緻講究,中西韻味並存, 總體來說是一次滿意的用餐體驗。

There has been much hype about this restaurant. My foodie colleague mentioned it, Time out Hong kong rate it 4 out of 5, so I figure give it a try. The deco reflects east meet west philosophy. The entrance is very attractive with Chinese Opera character, complemented with beautiful flower arrangement. The rest of the restaurant reminds me of a typical new york chic eatery: dark, mysterious and sexy. 20-30 something expats and local swanky boys and girls filled the place with glamor and energy.

The rest of the restaurant reminds me of a typical new york chic eatery: dark, mysterious and sexy. 20-30 something expats and local swanky boys and girls filled the place with glamor and energy. Upbeat background music put you in the groovy mood. We seem to have a good start.

The rest of the night was less than desired. Spotty service, missing orders, broken English speaking staffs...........

I would rate the food 2 out of 5, It tastes good so does the chinese take out next door. The menu carries the classic sichuan dishes however with little imagination. We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 entrees, didn't feel any sense of gratification at the end of the meal. Even for two very diet conscious ladies, the portion could be a bit more generous.

Overall, if you want to try a new, hip restaurant and be part of the "to see and to be seen " scene, Qi might be the place. For foodies, better off return to Da Ping Ho or Chili Fagara where all of your senses will be awake!!!!

每逢吃川菜都少不了它,不同餐廳的選料略有不同,這裡則用上牛展、牛舌和金錢肚,既麻又辣,而且非常濃味,當中最愛爽口彈牙的金錢肚。

每個蝦球比兵乓波還要大,加上墊底的一大堆辣椒,份量十足,絕不欺場!蝦肉非常爽口彈牙,雖然蠻有辣勁,卻不會蓋過蝦的鮮味,且絲毫不油膩,乃超水準之作。

一件件的加拿大 dungeness crab 被堆砌成既震撼又有霸氣的蟹塔,每一件都穿上了金黃色的衣裳,集香口、辛辣和惹味於一身,內裡則是軟嫩鮮甜的蟹肉,美味得令人吃不停口。

又是鋪滿一大堆辣椒的?!不過吃完剛才的蝦、蟹,發現那堆辣椒只不過是用來造勢的,已不再害怕了。豬仔骨經醃製後炸至微微酥脆,肉汁得以鎖住之餘,肉質也軟嫩彈牙,辣味微乎其微,是惹味之選,難怪餐牌上沒有顯示這是辣的菜式。因為份量比預期中少,只有三件,我們最後也追加了一份,而前後的賣相不一,各具心思。

鐵板茄子 ($115) ★☆☆☆☆

原來大家都是食肉獸,所以這盤燒茄子便是這頓晚餐唯一的「蔬菜」。燒茄子以鐵板呈上並不斷的冒著輕煙,香氣撲鼻,令人垂涎三尺。茄子入口鮮嫩,沾滿帶微辣的香濃醬汁,鹹度適中且不會過份油膩。雖然我們吃得很慢,放置了超過十分鐘的燒茄子還是熱騰騰的,感覺很窩心。

澱粉質是少不了的一環,擔擔麵上佈滿肉碎和蔥花,入口爽 滑,湯底亦滲著香濃的花生味,辣味並不突出,一人一撮麵,瞬間便將整碗麵殲滅了。

最後是甜品時間,我們捨棄高力豆沙而選了豆沙鍋餅。香脆可口的餅皮,夾著香濃的豆沙餡,甜度剛好,只是帶點油膩,一人一塊剛好。

大家都對這頓晚飯很滿意,無論食物、環境或服務,都是水準之上,要挑剔的話,或許是「不辣」的菜式未見突出,而且甜點的款式太少且沒有驚喜。

下次想吃川菜時,一定會再來!

I think there is something very addictive about chili and Szechuan pepper corns... I can‘t stop eating it.. Even though my mouth is on fire! Being a chili addict i just had to try this place out... This place is epic, the ambience and decor is sleek and dimly lit with great music to accompany it. Love how the tables are nicely spaced out which gives high privacy for romantic dinners.The food... This place is epic, the ambience and decor is sleek and dimly lit with great music to accompany it. Love how the tables are nicely spaced out which gives high privacy for romantic dinners.

The food... Where do i start?! The ginger beef is my personal favorite, the taste builds up and you are hit with a firey after burn 30 seconds after putting it in your mouth, it's so very addictive though.. Quite complex flavors that have you begging for more.

The spicy beef (水煮牛) not for the fake hearted.... You will see when it comes out. Authentic and great with rice!

The bang bang dumplings are very aptly named, they come in a sweet chili sauce which knocks your socks off, the bang bang dumplings are steamed to perfection, I would strongly recommend this dish for all you chilli lovers.

Lastly i would recommend the king prawns; great for value, very tender and incredibly moorish.

Aside from the food, we loved the casual service, we didn't feel under pressure to leave and it felt very welcoming. All in all an excellent experience which I'm looking forward repeating again very soon.
