上一次來吃lunch,是漢堡lunch set, 覺得食物幾有特色,所以今晚再來。整間餐廳座位設計有些古怪,沒有什麼條理,比較散亂,既不是走親民,也不是走型格路線。兩個人安排了一張細枱,餐牌一中一英。看完決定集中叫同豬有關的食物。吃了:Fat pig smoothie: 味道不錯,新鮮,不太甜豬頭煎餅配西洋菜莎莎醬:原來好細碟,吃不出「豬頭肉」,調味重手左,要配凍飲。醬油蜜汁黑毛豬架配法式焗薯:一上枱⋯燒到燶晒嘅?但食落又OK,幾香口。法式焗薯是將薯仔切到一片片再焗,口感不錯。原本想再叫甜品,但之前吃的食物比較油膩和咸,甜品餐牌也是一般常見的選擇,就此作罷。這間餐廳雖然性價比不高,但食物頗有特色,大伙兒來才可多試幾款。

黑松露芝士通粉($170)呢個真係偏貴呀,接受二百蚊得通粉,我expect 有少少肉食(少少都好😭無配料有啲失望),不過係幾好食的,芝士同黑松露味好夾好香。

關於菜式:選擇唔算好多但有驚喜,有啲平時少見既配搭,幾過癮;
份量:對我黎已經好夠,可能嗌多左少少食物;
價錢方面:時代廣場地段黎計中等,菜式有創新加番好多分,試左好多新野咁,以上食左$8xx 二人;

最後餐廳菜單有好多中式/西式食物或者食材,落埋係幾得意既,而且食材是比較少見的豬部份,值得一試😎

Having been to a few other of Tom Aiken's restaurants, I realized I haven't tried The Fat Pig so decided to start my new year with his restaurant.

The Fat Pig is located in Times Square. A restaurant owned by British chef, Tom Aikens, it's menu features everything revolving pork.

The place is rather dark. It was also oddly empty during lunch hour. One reason is they didn't offer a lunch set. In a competitive lunch area in Causeway Bay, I can understand why people would eat elsewhere if no deals are offered. The menu is in English and Chinese. It offered all sorts of pork dishes. This place also charges for water at $5 per bottle. Though they say it also gives back to some charity.

I ended up ordering this: pulled pork burger with coleslaw and onion ring in a brioche bun ($130). Size was not big. For this, I think quite possibly the most expensive burger I've had in Hong Kong as it didn't have any sides. They didn't even throw on a few pieces of lettuce on the side. However, it was really quite good. The bun was delicious as I love brioche. The combination of crispy onion ring, tart coleslaw and savory pulled pork worked well. Though I think the pulled pork was a bit too salty.

The food was fine but the service was something else. I can understand if staff like to talk amongst themselves. It's the only way to pass the time before work ends. I do it all the time. But don't talk right next to a customer. Stand elsewhere. Don't let  the customer hear you constantly chatting away. It's not only unprofessional, but also rude. There are places you can chat. Just not right next to the customer. This place is not a cha chan teng. This went on throughout my entire meal. For a restaurant that has been open for a while, I didn't expect such unprofessional manner. Considering Tom Aiken's other restaurants had amazing professional service.

黑松露的味道不論是聞起來還是吃落去也很香濃。豬舌的外層煎得很香脆,內裡則很軟稔

The food was great -- portion was indeed larger so order accordingly. I especially like the burger, simple yet very delicately cooked and juicy. The presentation for the dessert was intriguing and thoughtful, though it was only fair. Service was good, with very attentive servers. The restaurant was comfy too. It was an enjoyable night.

去了試 set lunch,一見到餐牌己為$158 ok, 有3款嘢食包甜品。第一度菜係麵包加蘋果及豬肉酱,都可以。跟住上了2度菜,係手心大的豬扒,乾的。我以為擺明食豬的餐廳會做得好味,真係連樓下茶餐廳都不如。第3度菜最嚇人,係整條小豬尾。買相嘔心,試了一啖,今次係我第一次係餐廳吐食物出碟,非常難食,味道怪,酸酸的,似垃圾味。最後甜品,都甜到不能入口。我是超愛甜品的人,但我都吃了一啖便棄碟。最後埋單$202,佢加了我$25蚊叫咖啡。本來條氣不太順,不過見佢全場lunch hour 得2枱,命不久矣,當損$比員工吧!

坦白講見到咁粉紅嘅豬肉呢食落去係真係有啲忐忑嘅,外層感覺有少少似臘肉,帶一點點嘅鹹香!裏便嘅肉同脂肪比例大概係一半一半,油脂香濃,估唔到嘅係肉質好鮮嫩,會有少少煙燻嘅味道!好好味!呢一種煮法將油分同埋肉汁封鎖左住!食到別一番嘅豬肉風味!

不過咁粉紅真係有啲驚!但我相信廚師嘅專業,事實上都冇令我失望!10分驚喜!

最後點了甜甜,乳酪雪糕配我至愛焦糖和草莓裝。加上這種中西合壁,圓滿的擺位,才二十元正!這個甜品為我送上幸福感覺!

我知道主廚是個外國人,能把東南亞的不同菜式融會貫通,再加創意,簡單菜色驚喜不斷,最特別嘅地方就係,好多菜名係聯想唔到個食物係點樣架!請大家自行發掘!

脆香豬皮

有兩種顏色係因為用左兩種唔同0既腌制方法

我本人比較喜歡白色那款

因深色那款好鹹...鹹得有點苦

後來我們幾位美女在相討之時

被送菜上來的waiter聽見我們有意見

很快餐廳的經理便主動走過來跟我們解釋

重味的原因係因為給飲啤酒的客人作送口小菜

可能我們當天點的飲品不太夾了

細心解釋過後,還主動替我們取消order

服務好得我不知什解釋好了

實在要為這餐廳網上的負評0黎一個大平翻!!

就連落單、上菜的工作人員都好好笑容, 有問必答

在落單之時, 我們不斷向他提問有甚麼推介

為什麼要推介, 好食在那,跟其他菜式有何分別.....

(我們三個真是非一般的問題美女啊!)

但工作人員都保持笑容地細心回應

看見我們進食速度不及上菜

又主動提出減慢上菜時間以免後來的放涼了影響口味

差點以為自己去了那間五星酒店進餐呢!

說實在我真的找不出可挑剔的地方

咁好0既服務態度可以係邊度搵?

相比起來,我的舌頭還是投了迷你漢堡一票

芥辣下是酸味味的像是豆蓉又像沙律的醬料

我們還選配了芝士碎

但我好像忘了芝士的味道

下面就係熱狗的主角豬肉腸

這三隻小豬走的應該是粗獷路線吧

其中一隻還燙傷了面珠仔

外型比味道更勝一籌

身位食香港點心大的我

這义燒包搓麵皮技術的確有待改善

這是我堅持叫的椰菜絲沙律

這份堅持源自於小時候很愛吃炸雞爺爺的同款沙律

後來不知原因沒有再出售了

令人懷念至今!

看似沒有白汁應有的creamy感

但芝士的濃及煙肉的香

已教人一口接一口的吃不停

第二個main就叫了五花腩配全籽芥末薯蓉

五花腩配以鼠尾草及蘋果燒汁烤焗而成

燒汁香香甜甜,以鼠尾草同蘋果解了五花腩的肥膩感

確實係一個完美的中西合璧好見證

亦令我體會到靚仔廚師的創造力!

這菜式跟我們的梅菜扣肉確有幾分異曲同工之妙!
