I’m a regular at this restaurant going on over a year, and while the food is usually good, over time, I’ve come to see the flaws in the service and attitude of one of the staff.
Let’s start with the food and overall environment.
The quality of their meat and soups are always good and served promptly.
Rice comes fresh in small steel bowls and is not too dry or undercooked—just right.
Their steamed egg is always lovely, but depending on the owner, they will make it. It is hit or miss.
Lunch deals are hard to beat, and the food is always served with two small side dishes of kimchi and tofu.
In terms of the environment, there have been times where I’ve walked in, and it’s pretty hot and damp, although I’ve been able to ask the staff to turn on the AC.
“Consistent” is what I’d say about this restaurant, and it’s usually relatively clean.
In terms of other aspects that are consistent: the service.
First, the young man is delightful. Always attentive and friendly, always serving with a smile and offering additional top-ups of rice and tea. Be careful; I may hire you!
On the other hand, based on my experience, the female owner is likely better back of the house VS. serving customers (which seems clear in other reviews). Her general attitude seems to be quite overbearing and controlling over her staff. On occasion, it confused me as a customer whereby I’ve been charged for items that were communicated differently by staff.
Overall, I will keep going to this restaurant simply because there are just no other options nearby. Still, I will not continue eating here without sharing my experience so others can be informed.
