Came here for lunch. Not my first choice for Japanese food but my friend said something about using up Golden Circle points so see dan la. I had in mind a big bowl of 雜錦魚生飯 but that wasn’t on the set menu so ordered the teppanyaki sirloin beef set instead. Plus a toro 手卷- the seaweed was actually ok- did not go all soggy on me. I had in mind a big bowl of 雜錦魚生飯 but that wasn’t on the set menu so ordered the teppanyaki sirloin beef set instead. Plus a toro 手卷- the seaweed was actually ok- did not go all soggy on me. Beef was lukewarm only. The lighting was so dark I nearly fell asleep during the meal, but what kept me awake was the smell of the Shangrila signature perfume (yes- the smell that hits you every time you walk into a Shangrila lobby). Normally I don’t hate it but the smell did not go well with my meal. (I can still smell it on me now. 🤮) Deduct 10 points. Service was ok, as expected from a big hospitality chain. Also didn’t bother to take photos cos of the lighting. In summary, tasted like any ordinary Japanese restaurant. If I want a Japanese meal, there are plenty of places I would rather visit.
