已有好一陣子沒有到訪旺角閒逛,適逢要到旺角辦點事,順道到旺角「更新」一下自己,亦相約了好友於附近用膳。是晚品嚐的是日本放題,說實話,因胃納有限,放題從來不會是個人首選,但因地點是由友人主動提出,大家亦無異議,結果亦較預期佳。餐廳地方新淨四正,用餐舒適度都算合理。餐廳盡處有數張自成一角的餐桌,和風味更濃,私隱舒適度更佳。甫安座後,在厚厚的點餐紙中先點飲品,再慢慢細挑美食。前菜先後點了三款,將軍沙律以將軍定名,但想來想去都不能了解因由為何,成品只是一客普普通通的田園沙律。辣味螺肉是一道惹味的開胃菜,醬汁食味香辣,螺肉彈牙,個人覺得不俗,友人則覺得醬汁略稠。日式溫泉蛋烹煮時間掌握不錯,蛋白白滑,蛋黃流心蛋香足。刺身吃了七款,分別是三文魚、甜蝦、鯛魚、鮑魚、馬刀貝、赤蝦及珍寶帶子刺身,其中最後兩款更是店方升級推介。以放題水準來說,此店的刺身來料及賣相都比預期佳,刺身鮮度亦令人滿意。以普通款式選擇來說,最美味的是鮑魚刺身,軟腍中又帶點彈牙,鮑魚香氣亦足。以升級推介來說,則首推赤蝦刺身,蝦身肉厚夠大隻,味道鮮甜爽口,前後每人吃了三隻,可見其吸引度。至於珍寶帶子刺身,帶子體積和珍寶二字仍有很大段距離
