To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 去「置富都會」飲茶,通常都會揀「彩福」,第一貪佢開得早,第二啲點心出品,一向都有一定水準。是日幾個點心落肚,打算叫個「合桃馬拉糕」試下。點知嚟到,打開個點心蒸籠蓋,3件糕好似比8號風球掃過,東歪西倒咁瞓低咗,當堂呆咗一呆,原本一個圓軲轆開四份嘅馬拉糕,比咗三份,所以全部瞓低咗。立刻問部長阿姐,話佢知廚房出錯。點知,最吊詭嘅係,阿姐竟然同我哋講「係呀,一向都係咁様三件,好多客都有咁樣問,我哋都唔明點解?」「What?!」當堂黑人問號上身,如果成本貴,可以做細啲,或者收返貴少少,但係點可能一個馬拉糕切開四份,然後,放返三份入點心籠比個客?!
