To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 有級數食府--食物質素差北京樓食物無質素(葵芳 新都會廣場5樓) 19/5/2009 在下家人點了北京烤鴨,酥炸蠔,炸魷魚鬚,咸蛋黃炒蝦,烤鴨下單後要45分鐘完成,烤鴨上枱外皮色澤淺紅疑似未上夠色,肉質鬆散,無鴨味,裏烤鴨皮的白色皮油膩膩,疑似以普通皮掃油翻蒸,酥炸蠔上枱時則油膩膩及蠔芯只是微温,疑似在烹調油温不夠,炸魷魚鬚則脆漿不足,只是部分染有脆漿,其餘情況如炸蠔,咸蛋黃炒蝦則油膩膩及蝦芯不爽及吃時水汪汪,疑似烹調前沒有將蝦肉吸乾水份, 是否現在有級數食府廚師的廚藝毎況愈下,比不上家庭主婦?在有級食府不能吃到較有質素的廚藝?無話可說,本人及家人朋友以後亦不會再光顧該店舖,上述食府在 Gulu享有 5分級,本人亦懷疑上述級要如何取?,值得各有關人士深思o
