To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 經過半個鐘頭既船程抵達南丫島既索罟灣, 已經入夜, 其實入黎既目的都係食海鮮, 沿岸有好多海鮮酒家, 但唯一天虹海鮮係特別多人, 其他只係得幾檯食緊。先黎椒鹽鮮魷, 真係脆, 同埋成碟係我最愛既魷魚鬚, 因為我唔太鍾意食身體個部份。再黎辣油煮花螺, 不過份量真係好少, 個煲就大囉, 以呢個價錢, 絕對唔抵食。坐低之後, 可能因為多人關係, 等左5分鐘都無人理望望四處都有不同國藉人士開緊餐, 見到餐牌上所有野都無價錢既, 有散叫又有套餐, 最後我地選擇左散叫, 因為套餐所有海鮮都係細隻既同份量小。牛油龍蝦係推介菜, 真係好熱辣辣, 分邊用牛油炸, 所以食個時要浸一浸低下既牛油至夠味。最後埋單 真係嚇死我,比預期貴左2百蚊, 因為餐牌上無價錢, 每樣都係出去出面睇價, 所以花螺根本唔知有幾多隻同幾重身, 我建議改食東風螺或者象拔蚌好過.... 但好在佢都送船飛回程同生果甜品。
