To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 親戚牛一,邀請赴宴,長輩請到,當然未敢怠慢。假期的第一天,也是晚飯的繁忙時段,未料到不算小的酒家只有三數圍枱。靜靜的,只歎生意難做!九大簋的海鮮席,龍蝦、飽魚、瀨尿蝦等俱有,分量亦足,計埋茶芥等,更有半隻燒鵝奉送,盛惠每人才約三百,聽來絕不算貴。豈料杯盤狼藉後,擬把餘下的飽魚、糯米雞等包起時,赫然發覺飽魚中有隻大曱甴,大家在嚇呆了下,只覺噁心!礙於長輩認為是日辦喜事,不宜紛爭,於是息事寧人,黯然離去!酒樓主打的燒鵝上桌,瘦小如鴨。當然最美味的鵝㫲子及以上部位不見有。新鮮燒烤的熱氣也欠奉!如此已是招牌食品,可想而知!蝦不算大,屬中、小型,但尚算新鮮爽口。龍蝦味道鮮美,雖然烹調方式有點不倫不類,龍蝦粉䊢不薄,經油泡後,加上所謂「芝士汁」,完全西式名字,中式煮法。但勝在食材新鮮,肉質鮮美。約8-9吋長的瀨尿蝦炒的很香,新鮮度則稍不一。但蒜香味濃,整體仍算不錯。豉椒向來惹味,放在桌上已香氣四溢。美中不足的仍是新鮮度,不少雙貝仍是緊合,吃海鮮而欠鮮是遺憾!就是這鮑魚令這餐使人噁心!雖然鮑魚不算小,以果皮來蒸賣相亦吸引,只是,當你發覺內藏曱甴是何等的令人餐後不安,下次怎敢再來!這是全埸至佳的菜餚。
