To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 涼拌前菜在炎熱的夏日最受歡迎, 川辣雲耳、蓮藕辣度相當輕微, 麻醬涼拌秋葵、茄子是大熱之選, 最喜歡的還是酸甜的紅菜頭, 但不要錯過清爽的 涼拌珊瑚草,屬涼菜中屬較少見的一種。沙律相對是有點遜色,但基本的項目還是不缺的。

炸物佔了自助素餐不少席位,以如山般的拔絲甜品最為矚目,雖然炸物有一定水準,薯泥球、炸蕃薯、小煎堆、炸雲吞新鮮香脆。至於甜品除了熱烘烘的芝士撻外,別的只是中規中矩,終究肥膩之物淺嚐就好。

涼菜、沙律吃得太多的關係,熱菜也就無胃納再嘗了,只要清甜無添加佛手瓜湯便足,倒是友人大愛這款像大豆芽的熱菜,帶微苦口感跟金針菇類近,只是個人不太懂得欣賞。

三款自助飲品都是健康的選擇,分別是檸檬水、夏枯草、羅漢果茶,平日討厭羅漢果茶的味道,這杯味道偏淡微甜,反而更對口味。

自助餐桌,不一定要與「豐富」、「暢吃」劃上等號。這頓晚餐沒有肆意暢吃, 也沒有盡嚐每一道素食,重點是不求要吃得很飽。內心總是覺得自助素餐,跟平常的自助餐是不一樣的,那是為素食者的多元需要而設,畢竟素食仍屬於小眾的口味,對能照顧到素食者需要的餐廳,實在是沒有不支持的道理吧!
