The food
The hamburger steak and fried chicken with rice bento is neatly organised, at the time of order there are options to choose additional snacks for a small addition of $$$, but I noticed an option to "free upgrade of rice quantity", I was curious and greedy so I opted more rice for free, thinking the rice might not be enough in their original portion.
Once I tried to eat the rice I kind of "regret" picking that option, not that it's a bad thing by the restaurant, but they really did pack the rice really dense into the bento container to fulfill their "more rice" promise. For a big belly, this is a gift, but for people with wide eye small stomachs, it is better to steer away from this option and stick with the original portion. Forcefully packing the rice make it dense, slightly ruined the rice's texture and makes it more difficult to spoon out the rice.
There are other drinks like soda water, cc lemon, etc. But I chose miso soup, wanted to drink something hot which also gets along with the japanese style food.
The food was still generally hot (5 mins walk to home). The hamburger steak (cut in 3 pcs) tastes alright, a bit soft than I would have liked as I prefer a rougher texture and something to chew on. But some people might like it soft too, so try it out yourself and see. And there are some small shreds of tendons in the steak so chew carefully.
The chicken tastes fine, but maybe slightly overcooked and a bit more chewy than I like. I wish the chicken was more like the steak and the steak more like the chicken, texture-wise.
There is also a ball of mashed potato (something I like) with broccoli and corn, the mashed potato makes me regret more for opting more rice : p
o well, the broccoli is cooked just right, not too soft nor hard. Same with the corn.
Service
As it's takeaway, the only interaction I had was with the cashier who was the only one near the door. He handed my the bag with two hands and did not look agitated at all and with a polite tone. I think it's fine.
Price
$72 (-$10 for using alipay as welcome reward), so I only paid $62 for these. It is not my first time eating Pepper Lunch, and I think there can be a next time still.
Stomach-ache?
Nope, my weak stomach says the food is fine.
