To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 菜單是12人份量。慶祝父親大壽擺一圍大枱,共15人,其中一個是3歲小孩,即時我們要求照計15人茶介,但要14人份量菜式,原因小孩吃不多那些飽參翅,也不想浪費食物和另加額外費用。同酒樓職員說明,其態度惡劣,還說冇人强迫要收15人份量價錢,話晒我們都是客人。另外,上龍蝦伊麵,沒有鉗,要我們要求下才提供1個,成圍枱得1個?問職員取多一個都黑囗黑面。客人食過龍蝦後,不會主動替客人換上新碗碟,所有龍蝦殼繼續保留,耍叫侍應才肯做。枱上牙簽、濕紙巾,吃翅時落醋公羹也欠奉,又一次要求侍應拿過來。到吃水餃麵和糯米飯,應該會派新碗來,什麼都沒有。我耍求侍應取派新碗來,侍應大大聲說等等,結果只派我一人,這又是什麼態度?不要跟我說人手不足,全間酒樓侍應個人和服務態度惡劣,適逢父親生日,我們只有忍,不想與任何人爭執口角。總之,從未試過那般受氣,也不會再來光顧。
