To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

第一次見到LAB EAT Restaurant & Bar的名字,是去完尖沙咀小甜谷,望到對面這間西餐廳,有點好奇,究竟叫「LAB」的餐廳,是否有實驗性質,還是充滿創意呢? 藉著星期六晚突如其來的空檔,便相約好友來到這間「實驗室」做白老鼠!餐廳內裡昏暗中呈現黃金色的燈光,牆上並掛著一些馬賽克圖案的畫作,頗有情調。看看餐牌,這店供應的是歐洲多國菜,有Set Dinner,亦有A la Carte餐單,我跟友人就選擇後者。餐廳正供應特價生蠔,三隻賣$150,便選了三隻來自法國的White Pearl, Majestic, Normandy,三個不同種,郤同樣十分肉厚、鮮甜又嫩滑。加$30,便可配白酒Carpene Malvolti Prosecco DOCG 1868 Brut,味道有點酸甜,像青蘋果味,作為餐前酒和配生蠔,我認為都適合的。無花果火腿沙律 ($128),我個人頗喜歡用無花果來做的沙律,確實能令整道菜提昇了清新和香甜,火腿則令其加添香滑,如果雜菜的份量加大些少,應該會更爽脆。法式黑松露香草焗田螺 ($128),用香草來焗田螺,本身已好香口惹味,再加上黑松露醬,香氣便培增起來,

雞肉頗為肥厚,烤得也皮脆肉鬆,不過,Risotto煮得太淡,且太腍,質感像薯蓉多過飯。

整體來說,這晚的食物是水準之上。但是,如果以 “LAB”來招徠,其創意方面就不足,且較為保守,期望這餐廳可以交出更大創意,發揮實驗精神吧!
