在香港,有很多居酒屋。然而,要找一間有日本居酒屋格局和味道的,似乎選擇不多。早幾年,曾到訪過天后清風街主打壽司刺身的「悅鮨」,印象不錯。據聞,老闆在一街之隔的電氣道,開了一間全新的居酒屋  - 「八十八居酒屋」,食物除了刺生壽司外,更以炭火燒烤的串燒和燒物為主打,種類較為多元化。店子裝潢以褐色木材為主調,店內到處貼有各式日本清酒招紙,以及紙製魚形掛飾,滲透出古樸且厚重的和風味道。店長推介日本得獎啤酒「美瀨之雪 」,有濃味黑啤和淡味白啤可供選擇,小妹要了後者。白啤以小麥麥芽和淡色麥芽釀成,具天然果香醇香味,且略帶清爽酸味,入口冰凍香甜萬分,適合女士飲用。小雞了一杯新鮮天然且百分百果汁製成的青森蘋果汁,試了一少口,啖啖濃郁蘋果芳香,清新微酸口感,甘醇順口,天然果味沁人心脾。前菜乃酸香有致的魷魚青瓜紅蘿蔔漬物,醒神開胃,喚醒沉睡了的味蕾。率先送上的刺身拼盤,有日式池魚他他、吞拿魚腩和油甘魚,未起筷,已看得見鮮味滿瀉。日式池魚他他略帶腥味,故加了大量薑蓉、蔥花和白芝麻,辟腥添香,再捲著紫菜同吃,教人大快朵頤。厚切吞拿魚腩貌似肥豬肉,咬下去油脂極為豐富,肉質鮮味,魚味濃郁,只稍嫌未致入口即融之境

接著,這一款清爽而不膩的生菜胡麻包三文魚壽司, 挺有驚奇的!一大片鮮爽脆的生菜,夾著火炙過的油潤鮮美厚切方條狀三文魚,以及混入胡麻醬的煙韌香糯醋米飯,完美的配搭,大大的滿足。

打開木蓋,這鍋蟹粥滿佈鮮香,粥底不但加入蟹肉熬煮,還添加了魚籽、紫菜、雞蛋、鮮蝦、娃娃菜和冬菇等,海鮮的鮮美全都熬進在粥裏,粥品甘香帶著濃郁的蟹香味,口感軟綿,滋味無窮。胃撐肚頂的我們,忍不住吃完一碗又一碗。
