My uncle was heading back home to the US, so we decided to treat him to a farewell dinner, and he picked Queen's Cafe.

Queen's Cafe is one of those old school "soy sauce Western restaurants" that can always bring back childhood memories for my parents' generation.

Even though the Queen's Cafe in Lee Theatre is a revived version of the restaurant, the decor still maintained an old timey feel.  I made the reservation a few days before for the 7 of us, but the restaurant was not completely filled on a Sunday night.

After perusing the menus, I decided to order the duck breast set dinner.

Soon after, the waitress served the bread and butter.

The bread is the typical soft sweet roll which was warm when it was served.

The Borsch is one of the most praised items from this restaurant, and it's no surprise.  The soup was filled with plenty of vegetables, and it was very flavorful, which is unlike the watered-down red soups you'd get from a char charn tang.

I forgot to take a photo of the Fresh Garden Green Salad, but it was just a simple salad with fresh veggies and salad dressing.

When my main course was served, I was overwhelmed by its size!  There were two duck breasts on my plate, and I'm used to only getting one when I order Duck a l'orange!

Magrel De Canard Au Orange with Seasonal Vegetable: The duck breast was tender and cooked medium rare.  The sauce was a little runny for my liking.  I'm not a fan of potato wedges, so they were ok.  I had a choice of fried potatoes, spaghetti, or rice, but I chose potatoes anyway because I don't think duck breast goes with spaghetti or rice.

To finish my meal, I ordered an iced lemon tea, which was normal, so nothing really to write home about.

For a $250 set dinner, the portion was larger than I expected, and the food quality was not bad.  But I think the major reason people come to Queen's Cafe is for nostalgic reasons more than the food.
