My friend and I both picked the same sashimi rice, the one with salmon roes, uni and minced tuna. Since the restaurant didn’t have any other waiting area, I was asked to wait behind the bar, right in front of where they put the used dishes and bowls. What an unpleasant experience right before my meal! Since there’s a table that was available shortly after my arrival, I had asked whether I could take that, but since it’s a table booked for 4, I got to wait. It turned out that I was later asked to sit in that exact table and share that with another booking for 2.
The sashimi don was good. They added something of light brown colour to the sashimi rice, giving it a light brown colour, but the rice didn’t taste salty nor having soy sauce taste. Maybe it’s mirin.
In the don there were lots of salmon roes, together with uni and negitoro, which matched the expectation of the charge of $228 + 10%. We hadn’t asked for a bottle of tea/hot water, while the staff put one on our table, which made the small table even smaller, and wouldn’t have enough room to put the lunch sets when they arrived. This had shown not enough consideration. The fact that the tables were so close to each other and the particular spot that I had to wait there had adversely affected the overall experience right from the start. Look at the decoration, it’s more a place for drinking and snacks rather than for the appreciation of food. For this price, I’d rather go somewhere else.
