It's my first time writing on Openrice.. but it's not gonna be a 'praising' review!!! I used to love English food, so my hubby had a search on Openrice and he found quite a few good reviews for Bricklane. Then he reserved a table for 6 for brunch to celebrate my birthday there...It was a Sunday afternoon, when we got there, it was nearly full... Then we started to order, the waitress repeated our order, she said 'breakfast' as 'breakfat'..OMG, how could it be like that???????? I supposed somebod
It was a Sunday afternoon, when we got there, it was nearly full... Then we started to order, the waitress repeated our order, she said 'breakfast' as 'breakfat'..OMG, how could it be like that???????? I supposed somebody who could speak and understand English better in an English cafe.. but here it came such a horrible waitress?????!!!! I bet she even couldn't pronounce 'scrambled egg'.. she repeated to us in Cantonese...I truly wish the boss should consider getting someone who is more well-trained and understand English better!!!! I think if they serve nice English food, many Western ppl would be attracted to go there... (On that day, none western ppl was there though!!)
Anyway, we ordered 6 sets.. my hubby had to order fish n chips as burger wasn't served!!!! My sister ordered Egg benedict with salmon, but salmon was out of stock as THAT WAITRESS said... then she had to order egg benedict with ham while my mum ordered egg benedict with bacon..The most pissing thing is we saw ppl having salmon who came later than us??!!!!!!! THAT WAITRESS also didn't ask if we're gonna share the food and put six plates on the table which wasn't that big... so when the sets came later.. no more room left?? Wasn't it stupid in a sense??!!
My sister's egg benedict was the first to be served.. she didn't have it fast, but when she nearly finished, the second set which was my mum's egg benedict with bacon was served..they're served alike.. and when we asked THAT WAITRESS, she said different, but she got to take away my mum's to clarify with the chef and came back said they're different... We supposed there's only one chef cooking the food there???!!!
They looked the same????The English breakfast wasn't the best either.. the tomato wasn't well cooked.. and the sausages were those which were served in HK style cafes....????!!!!!!
OK, time for ordering the drinks.. we asked THAT WAITRESS if we got to order 6 drinks as we ordered 6 sets.. she said fish n chips wasn't a set, so we could only order 5 drinks.. but then she came back after asking her boss??!! and said we could order 6 drinks... A cup of tea wouldn't cost a lot of money...I don't think we would ever go back there again!!!
