Came here to try their food because I saw quite a lot of good openrice reviews about this restaurant...Once my boyfriend and I opened the menu, we were really surprised by their food variety. Not only did they have Indian food, but also western, Italian and Mexican food.
I have always been a big fan of pineapple, so I ordered a glass of pineapple and coconut smoothie to start off my dinner. The smoothie has a strong taste and smell of pineapple, a bit overpowered the taste of coconut. I didn't have any complaints about as mentioned I'm a big fan of pineapple. The smoothie had a perfect amount of sweetness and sourness a as well. I just couldn't stop drinking. Not long later, I could hear the sizzling sound of our malai kebab(chicken marinated with cardamon and some other Indian spices). The sizzling smell and sound of it grealy enhanced our appetite. When we used a knife to cut it, it was surprisingly tender. I felt like it is as tender as fish. When I was having it, I could definitely taste the cardamon and a bit of other Indian spices. This is a dish for those who are cardamon fan out there. However, my boyfriend and I are not a big fan of cardamon. So, it was just ok to us. Mango and fish salad arrived right after malai kebab. This was the dish I had high expectation since quite a lot of reviewers from openrice have been raving about this salad. The presentation totally won my heart before I try it. I just felt instantly happy when saw the vibrant colour of mango, cucumber, tomotoes and some other leafy greens of the salad. The portion was huge as well. It tasted sweet and sour at the time, totally stimulate my appetite. It would be even more perfect when having it during summer time. Green onion kulch (green onion naan) was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It would be perfect for curry. However, we didn't order any curries. Tandoori chicken was the same as malai kebab, could smell and hear the sizzling effect of it. This is the dish I always love to order whenever I have Indian cuisine. It wasn't the best I ever had, but it tasted pretty good. It was tender and juicy. However, they can put more Indian spices to marinate enhnace the flavour of it I think. Although we were very full, we still ordered homemade apple and blueberry crumble to end our night at Mala's Fusion Cuisine. Thumbs up for using fresh apples amd blueberries to make this dessert. I totally loved the smooth vanilla ice-cream on top of the apple and blueberry crumble. However, the apples underneath were a bit too wet. If the restaurant can improve it, it would be much nicer. Overall, our dinner at Mala's Fusion Cuisine was very pleasant. We will definitely come back try more dishes next time.
