Only got them because some friends from UK wanted to try some local stuff.All I can say is that it is different but not delicious.It was just flakey pastry filled with sweet wintermelon paste and other one was weird sweet lotus paste and a savoury preserved egg.

今日行百貨嗰時經過恒香老餅家呢間餅店,呢間餅家好多年喇,我對餅興趣唔算好大,但都覺得呢間嘅餅唔錯,但阿媽就好鐘意食,話食呢間嘅餅就淋起以前開心快樂嘅學生時代,食餅就係食回憶啊。餅店有各種各樣嘅餅,有酥餅,蛋黃酥同蛋卷等其他。最鐘意係蛋卷,老婆餅同埋紅豆餅呢三樣,但係怕阿媽一次食得太多,所以都唔敢買咁多返去,蛋卷可以放嘅時間長D就買左一盒,蛋卷好酥脆,平時用嚟做下午茶都可以。老婆餅同紅豆餅都係皮薄餡靚,皮好酥脆,兩種餅嘅餡料都真材實料,可以食得出冬瓜蓉同埋紅豆,但食一個就夠了,再食多個我覺得會過甜,始終傳統餅都會有D油膩。

相信大部份人吃傳統月餅,最普遍都是吃雙黃白蓮蓉,喜歡那鴨蛋黃與蓮蓉交集的口感,有些甚至三黃,四黃,蛋黃越多,價錢越貴!可是,我從小至今都有著特殊癖好,就是愛吃月餅,但只吃蓮蓉不吃蛋黃,總覺得蛋黃又鹹,又苦,又硬實,破壞了蓮蓉的甜與滑,說出來,別人都會感到有點好笑,又或者應該說是:我對月餅裡的蛋黃有偏惡才對!若跟親友分享,他們都只會把月餅中,沒有蛋黃的部份切給我吃。今年在崇光超市買月餅送禮,在恆香老餅家的檔口,找到了好像為我這種口味而特製之月餅

Life in UK is very tough. Whenever I feel homesick, I will think of FOOD!!Today when I passed though sogo I saw Hang Heung which is definitely a traditional HK Bakery that provide all source of snacks. Today I picked some of my fav which were the Fragrant chicken short cake, Crispy Grain and Country egg rolls. Fragrant chicken short cake: When I first bite, it was quite hard but after a few seconds, the strong taste of garlic first came out, then it was the lard with the crunchy dry meat thingy, the whole combination sounded strange, but to HK people, it should be one of our childhood snacks as well as memories.Crispy Grain:It tasted "eggy", its texture was not too soft and not too hard. The sugar coating at the outer surface was quite thick, to me it was a bit too sweet, but anyway, $10 is quite cheap.Country egg rolls:Again, it was "eggy" as super crispy. Although when I was eating, the bit and pieces went everywhere, overall it was really delicious.
