For a girls' night out, we chose this place because there were many vegetarian options for one of us grazers, but plenty of yummy carnivorous dishes to satisfy meat eaters like myself. Despite being on one of the steepest streets in Soho, our 38-week pregnant friend managed to arrive without breaking water. We had a corner table that sat 5 on the sofa side, and me singularly on a chair facing the rest of them, which meant I had to swing my head like a moving fan to be able to speak to everyone.T
That aside, the service was mainly provided by two nice waitresses who tried their best to meet every table's demand and overall did a very commendable job. For food, the menu is divided into tapas, salads (which appear to be many choices, but actually when you look closely they are variables of the same theme with common ingredients), a few pasta dishes, and mains had seafood/meat options.
We went for the meatballs (4 pieces), the garlic prawns (slightly too salty for my liking but fresh prawns and very garlicky), and mussels in white wine sauce (big dish, easily fed us all). There was also eggplant and proscuitto rolls (little bite-sized morsels on toothpicks that whetted up our appetite), and a HUGE salad that could easily be a main course for two. The crusty warm baguettes were used to mop up all the sauces from various dishes. For mains we opted for the chicken kebab/souvla, which was actually a huge dish with a "side" salad that could easily have been a starter dish on its own. The 4-5 skewers of tender tasty chicken did not disappoint in taste, texture, freshness and portion-wise. We also had the quesadilla mix, which ended up as a huge plate of 4 kinds of wraps/flats - chicken, beef, vegetarian and cheese & tomato. These came with 2 side dishes of potatos, which we struggled to finish. We were glad that our order of boeuf bourgignon was sold out for the evening because it would have gone unappreciated. There were a few orders of mocktails and the rest of us had plain water. In addition to everything tasting fantabulous, the bill came to just over $200 pax!! My only piece of advice for all you reading this - if you come to this restaurant, make sure you have at least a group of 6 or more so you can order a few more dishes to try, otherwise you'd be left peering longingly at your fellow diners' dishes and wishing you could find another stomach to fit it all in.
