Many chefs have tried to be inventive with American food.  Sadly, many have failed miserably because the best American dishes should be served plain and simple.  I know because I am from San Francisco. There is no need to use Kobe Beef for a hamburger when it is best to use the right mixture of chuck and sirloin. And what a waste to drench truffle oil on french fries because it's best with sea salt and ketchup.  Although I do think that best fries are twice deep fried with duck fat.With that said, I was introduced to Lazy Hog by my dearest friend and this place is simply amazing.  They have successfully re-invented American casual favorites by using premium and fresh ingredients, and layer after layer of sophisticated flavor that have been carefully executed per excellence.  Unlike some restaurants, Lazy Hog is unpretentious with friendly and well trained staff.  It is a fun place to hang out with friends.Lazy Hog is a must try. 继续阅读

Dined at Lazy Hog because of the black egg!Lazy Hog is located on Bridges Street.Here was what I had:★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Pineapple lime:It was a pineapple steak at the bottom with pineapple carpaccio slices on top drizzled with lime juice and fine lime peel shavings.This was very refreshing to start off with especially with the tangy lime juice and juicy pineapple.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Squid ink egg salad:It had a great presentation and definitely worth ordering.The egg was BLACK and looked like a black burrata.However I was slightly disappointed that it was solid all the way through because there was meant to be liquid oozing out from the middle as shown on the previous review.It would be great if it had liquid vibrant orange yolk in the middle or something runny to mix with the salad leaves.Although it did not have a runny centre, it tasted so amazing with a strong squid ink taste.When I eat squid, the taste is similar to egg white so when delicate egg white was infused with squid ink, the taste and texture was divine.The pieces of toasted bread were nice but a little too crispy.As an alternative I would not mind having soft pieces of squid ink bread instead.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Digital bill:They also give you a printed receipt as well and I kept the change because one of the fifty cent coins was a really old one.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★◎ⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓖⓘⓡⓛ◎The bill: $194Service: OKService charge: yesYummy factor: okToilets: yesGlass of water provided: yesEnglish Menu: YesAir Conditioning: YesMusic Levels: Yes◎ⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓖⓘⓡⓛ◎ 继续阅读

一直都有留意在必列者士街Oolaa旁空置了一會的鋪位。一直都很想知道會開一間什麼餐廳。原來開的是一間名叫Lazy Hog的餐廳,Hog是豬的意思,所以這裡是"懶豬"。懶豬佔了2個分開的鋪位,喜歡坐那邊就去那邊吧。Lazy Hog是由辦館 LOF10的人開的,說是供應新美式菜。I have been paying attention to the unoccupied space near Oolaa on the Bridges Street, wondering what kind of restaurant or cafe would take over there. Well it turned out a new restaurant called Lazy Hog has indeed rented both space. I did a bit of online searching and found out Lazy Hog is opened by the same guys who set up Lof 10, the coffee place. According to its facebook page, Lazy Hog serves New American dishes.我和KK星期六的下午去到,有brunch的menu。不過選擇不算多。(後來我拿了晚市的menu來看選擇也是很少但每款菜式都很吸引) 我和KK看了一會沒有細想及細問就點了菜,是有點兒懶豬,亦因此我們選錯了。。。KK and I arrived at Lazy Hog at noon on a Saturday and it was serving brunch food. There weren't much to choose from though. (I also looked at the dinner menu, not many choices again but each dish seems very interesting) We ordered quite quickly without really thinking about what we were ordering, kind of being lazy and we suffered the consequences... (to be elaborated below)Cappuccino - 有辦館 LOF10的背景,這裡當然有咖啡,這天的好像是用了什麼bluebottlela 咖啡豆。很慚愧,我不是咖啡專家,不懂這些。我只是很膚淺的"覺得"一杯咖啡"好不好喝",例如會不會太苦,太甜,奶是多或少?又或拉花拉得如何?店員說它們的咖啡會定期從美國入口,所以會定期轉。而這杯Cappuccino,我覺得"好喝",不過熱一點會更好。另外,咖啡杯挺大的,還有餐廳的logo懶豬,杯內亦有豬蹄!Cappuccino - Of course one can find coffee here, given the background of Lof 10. I was told that they were using bluebottlela, a kind of coffee beans. But I must apologize that I am not a coffee expert, well, I don't really know much about coffee indeed. I usually (and extremely superficially) would only care about simple issues like if the coffee is too bitter, too sweet, too much/less milk or if the latte art looks pretty. The Cappuccino here "tasted good" to me but would have been even better if it had been hotter. And one thing I must highlight is the mug! It has the logo of Lazy Hog and inside there is a trotter print!Squid Ink Egg Salad (約$120) - 這可是店員大力推介的,上桌時我和KK有2種感覺。第一感覺是嘩這蛋真的是黑色的而且看上去很像黑蒜!還有同是墨汁的toast作為croutons。第二感覺是嘩只有蛋及菜好小的一碟非常清寡。Squid Ink Egg Salad (about $120) - This was highly recommended by the staff. When it got on our table, KK and I were thinking (1) wow this egg is really black and looks like those Korean black garlic! And there were squid ink croutons! (2) wow there are really only egg and "leaves" and it looks really small!先把蛋切開,中間的墨汁湧了出來,場面頗為壯觀。究竟是如何煮成的???把墨汁混到菜上便可以吃了。蛋吃不出蛋黃而吃到了蛋白的質地。墨汁有咸味,與菜同吃剛好。墨汁croutons烘的很脆,沙律菜不算太新鮮但都還可以。如果可以用上其他的沙律菜或用數款不同的沙律菜可能會更好。120元值不值?就著那隻像黑蒜又會湧出墨汁的蛋,我認為值。Then we cut the egg open and were truly amazed to see the squid ink burst out from the egg. How was it cooked??? We let the ink mix with the greens and started to have a taste. I couldn't taste any egg yolk and the squid ink was a bit on the salty side. But it's about right mixing it with the veggies. The croutons were crunchy and the vegetable leaves were ok, albeit would have been great if they had been fresher or if different types of vegetables had been used. Is this salad worth $120? Umm, in view of the garlic-like squid ink egg, I think so.Cheese Green Omelette (約$90-100) - 是不是有點像大家的媽媽或茶餐廳會見到的煎蛋呢。不過懶豬收了我接近百元。。。見到真的有被騙的感覺。店員說本來應該有rocket salad伴碟,但那天沒有rocket。但即使多了一些salad,這也不會值100元。而且沒salad,怎麼不給一兩片麵包,或把價錢調低呢。坦白說,我是沒有太吃到芝士的味道,而且那個"Green",好像是蔥之類的,真的有夠無語。故事的教訓是不要lazy,要問清楚你點的是什麼,要勤力地去了解餐牌,就可避免Cheese Green Omelette這個情況。Cheese Green Omelette (about $90-100) - Does it just look so much like the fried egg your mum does at home or you get from a Cha Chaan Teng? This lazy dish costs about 100 dollars... We were told the omelette was supposed to come with rocket salad on the side but they didn't have rocket that day. But I don't think the omelette would worth $100 even with the salad. Besides, if you don't have salad, how about getting a toast or two, or just lower the price? Taste-wise, I couldn't really find the taste of the cheese and the "green" on the menu was just something like scallion. We were rendered speechless at that point. The moral of the story is don't be lazy. Be diligent in understanding what you are ordering to avoid the omelette situation.其實店員還真的是很踴躍很熱情。他亦表示其實現階段還在fine tune餐牌。Um,最好是吧,把那小家子氣的omelette fine tune一下。雖然Omelette是個伏,但我對Lazy Hog的印象還不差。我也看到其他檯的食物好像比較吸引。所以說呢,找吃的不能懶,勤勞的去研究餐牌才是皇道。I must say the staff were really enthusiastic and said they are still fine-tuning the menu. Well please fine-tune the omelette... Despite the omelette situation, my impression towards Lazy Hog is quite good and the dishes on other customers' table did look very delicious. 之前都無寫過食評 , 但試過今次呢間餐廳之後 , 覺得幾好, 就諗住一定要介紹俾大家   係星期一晚上,係SOHO附近一路行一路睇下有咩好食 , 行行下就見到呢間新開GE餐廳 .見到呢間餐廳分左兩個食野巳嘅Area, 又幾特別喎!睇到入面GE裝修都好舒服 , 見到佢個MENU , D野食都好地道美國菜,係香港好少見,  就決定試下一入去聽見的柔和音樂和餐廳內的裝修和對出的環境巳平靜了我星期一要上班的心情呢度有埋openbar , 服務員話之後呢度會有酒買, 到時就可以近距離睇調酒~一入到去座底.店員俾左一杯水俾我.飲第一啖. 有薄荷同清檸味就好奇睇下佢地放左d咩係d水度 , 原來佢地落左唔同嘅香葉同檸檬, 怪不得,幾清新, I Like it ~之後佢地就開始介紹每樣菜式入面有d咩材料 , 味道同問我想食咩類型ge菜. , 最後我諗諗下想食海鮮同飯, 所以就點左JABALAYA ~總括黎講店員都好friendly 同nice等了大概around10-15 mins , 有得食啦~JABALAYA買相不錯wor , 材料足, 汁就好似番茄汁同龍蝦汁 remix, 惹味 * 有蜆肉. 蜆肉鮮嫩,連埋旁邊的綠色類似olivia oil , 食落好配襯 *  飯方面煮得唔似risotto般濕, 而是比risotto 乾身, 比較正宗ge美國煮法    而飯都是比較有咬口,    在飯裡面見到都幾多一塊塊ge肉腸, 之後食食下仲見到原來廚師將肉切粒    再放入飯入面一齊煮,  難怪甘惹味     再配埋兩塊甜甜地類似豬肉片ge小食, 好味到最後我就為要我ge晚餐劃上一個完美ge句號啦 ~~甜品! Blueberry Sorbet甜品最忌的就係唔夠凍但係呢個甜品就夠哂凍啦, 裡面ge奶凍食落好似牛奶同芝士MIX埋一齊, 口感滑得黎又豐富而blueberry sorbet 仲可以見到一粒粒ge藍莓係度,藍莓味濃, 都算甜,兩樣一齊食就啱啱好,食完後.仲想食多杯...唔係好夠喉食到最後埋單時有個年輕GE後生仔,走過黎問食物如何?, 有D咩要改善?原來佢係其中一個老闆...HAHA....真係年青有為 聽老闆講遲D會有BUNCH !等我下次再黎試下其他野先!p.s 臨走前, 見到廚師研究緊新甜品>< , 好好味咁 继续阅读
