street to meet a friend and the decide where to go we had actually decided on
somewhere different but that looked quite full and being a hot day and slightly
hangry there was no time to wait around and my friend suggested St. Barts and
they had been before and pretty good.
We head on in and get a table for two for three of us, thankfully someone leaves and we
get moved to a bigger table the decor here is quite simple yet effective with
wooden floors and white walls with similar furniture complimenting the space.
Hitting the menu and being a public holiday we make the wise decision of bloody marys
and a great decision it was, they come out nicely spiced with horse radish
sauce spread through the drink which makes the difference.
We each choose our main knowing full well if someone’s else’s looks good we’ll
be throwing our fork in for a taste, after a short wait the food is out and everyone’s
looks great
There was a sweet potatoes hash with spinach and goats cheese and the
combination goes well with the crisps outside and soft inside of the hash
alongside the wilted spinach and goats cheese.
The mushroom risotto is a very generous portion with mushrooms and cheese straddling
the perfectly cooked rice again very tasty
and the favourite of the day was the corn fitters with crispy bacon a poached
egg and a hollandaise sauce, this was amazing and thankfully my choice so I managed
to get the lions share
great new addition to the choices on high street grill and a great refreshing
change of food style
