This restaurant called Shè is located at Lane Crawford, and they have both indoor and outdoor seats. As I was told the window seats were allocated based on the time of table reservation - the earlier you reserve a table, the higher chance for you to secure a window seat. The window seats were already full by the time I visited, so I requested to sit outdoor instead. Surprisingly, it wasn’t very hot and it’s indeed much more comfortable sitting outside with some gentle breeze from the sea because I found the indoor area a bit stuffy. Plus, you get better pics outside! 📸
We got the Breezy Summer afternoon tea. It came with 2 glasses of floral tea as well. Not only did they look amazing, they tasted good too! The golden fish shrimp dumplings in supreme broth was impressive, as I believe they used pea shoots in the broth and that made it delicious! The rose gold har gao had a rather stiff wrap for me. The mushroom handbag pastry looked interesting! The outside was crunchy and the stuffings were different types of mushrooms! The floral spring rolls looked so much different from typical spring rolls, but they tasted as good as the traditional ones! 😛 But the desserts were average - nothing I would like to highlight haha😆
Overall, this set only cost $388 with 2 drinks, so it’s not a bad idea to bring your friends here for a different afternoon tea experience! I used to think the British afternoon tea seems classy and fancy, but you still get bored with it. Hence, you can consider a Chinese one once in a while! 😝
