A well toasted sesame bun, with the salad and gherkin on the side rather than within - this seems to be the trend nowadays. Biting into the Beef Pattie, I was definitely very delighted to find the long lost Beef flavour in a burger - here, the beef taste is strong with probable help from some portions of minced Rump cut. The Swiss Cheese was also really aromatic and tasty. The mushrooms however were the pre-sauteeded tinned type, nearly exactly the same as the Burger King version and slightly disappointing as it lacked the fresh mushroom earthiness and flavour.
Chips were thick Steak Fries, sprinkled with dried herbs.
BOTTLED DUVEL $60 :
This Belgian Golden Ale is one of my favourite beers in Summer. Despite being poured from a bottle rather than draught poured, this still had a very strong, fresh Hop Aroma, with a pear like lingering finish. Smells really good - unlike the other 90% of beers on the market! Some might question why I would order a Belgian beer in an Irish Pub, but McSorley's is actually an Ale House to be more accurate - and Duvel is an Ale.

REALLY LOVED THE BURGER HERE, IT WAS COOKED TO MEDIUM AS REQUESTED AND THE BEEF FLAVOUR WAS REALLY PROMINENT AND NOT LOCALISED IN FLAVOUR. BUT YOU PAY A PRICE FOR IT, AS IT WORKS OUT TO BE NEARLY $110.
A LOW '5' AT LEAST WITHOUT DOUBT!
