It had been a long long time since my last burger meal. This time I had an evil burger meal with my dinner partner at this place in Wan Chai called Honbo. It was a bit hard to find as the Sun Street was not so easy to find and was so narrow and small. I also had to walk up some stairs and slope from Queen's Road East. The most straight-forward way seemed to walk up the staircase via a small resting area at Queen's Road East opposite to M&S.It was quite a small burger bar and lucky that we arrive
According to their menu, they bake their own buns, hand cut their fries and their beef is ground in house daily. There were so many choices of burgers and even Impossible Burger. As it was our first visit, we decided to try the most special ones. Our food arrived swiftly almost at the same time.

The Gold Standard (double 4oz beef patty, double cheese, bacon, pickles, onion, lettuce, house sauce) at $158
The burger was giant which could definitely not fit into my mouth in one sip. The beef patty was cooked to the perfect degree that it was medium rare and was so juicy yet not too greasy. Can you see the pink patty in the photo? The double cheese made the burger even more moist! The bacon was crispy and enhanced the flavour, texture and smell of the burger. There was a slice of thin lettuce, some onions and some pickles stuck on the upper bun. The bun was obviously toasted and was crispy on the crust but soft inside. Evil and yummy!

Honbo 2.0 (4x2oz double beef patty, triple cheese, pickles, onion, house sauce) at $148
This Honbo 2.0 was less big but still very giant. Ingredients-wise it was quite similar to the Gold Standard except for the lack of bacon and lettuce. It was also very yummy.

Cheese Fries at $58
The fries were those of thin type and were fresh and crispy although not hot maybe cooled down by the cheese. The cheese was of generous amount which covered almost all the fries. The cheese was not melting and had coagulated onto the fries.

Ginger Lime Lemonade at $38 (left) & Mike's Lemonade at $38 (right)
There was no milkshakes and we didn't want to drink soft drinks so ordered lemonades which seemed healthier. Mike's Lemonade was delicious being sweet to the perfect degree but not overly. I liked how there were a few pieces of cucumber on top which could be eaten! The flavour of ginger was reasonably rich yet not over and the addition was of lime was quite appropriate for the Ginger Lime Lemonade. It was quite a good drink too. Good to wash down the burgers and fries and didn't make you thirsty after the meal.

There was no cheaper combo set so you need to order things from their menu. They served ketchup and mustard sauces on their table.

Overall, I liked the Gold Standard the best! Service was very efficient as our orders arrived like within 10 minutes. It was so considerate that plastic forks were provided for us to eat the fries, although less environmentally friendly.
