Incredible though it may seem, I have never tried this place due to the eternal long queues; today I happened to pass by World Trade Centre and the perfect occasion arose. The service was warm and the staff polite and considerate. The service was warm and the staff polite and considerate. I ordered the two dishes - the namesakes of this restaurant - and they were overall satisfactory. The Siu Long Bao (dumplings) were hot on arrival; and it was nice the way the soup was "encased" in thin dumpling wraps. The dumplings were not too delicate as to be unable to withstand the touch of chopsticks, but they were not thick to the point of affecting the flavour or texture. The dumplings were quite fresh too. The beef noodles were indeed laudable: the noodles were of a slightly stiff nature which was the authentic hallmark of handmade noodles, the soup with the Chinese seasoning herbs added to the taste, the beef slices were thick but tender on the bite and well marinated - overall keeping the genuine taste of traditional Shanghai beef noodles.
Food worthy of merit and service comfortable, though I still fail to see the reason behind the long queues - perhaps it is difficult to find an eatery with consistent standards nowadays?
