There're few places in Taikoo place seems serve fancy dining. I consider Plat du Jour is one of them. So I came here with two girlfriends. The interior decor is quite nice, just like a french style of Newsroom. The environment is a good place for a business treat. There're two-course meal ($185) and three-course meal ($225) for lunch option. Perhpas we shouldn't read the comments from openrice, so we won't have high expectation. To meet the local standard, I expected the bread should be slightly cripsy outside n soft or chewy inside. The fact...is , it's just like a piece of cold sourdough. As for the starters, we ordered lobster bisque (soup), the goat cheese salad and the tuna salad. Sorry to say the soup is really nothing special. Both salad are quite impressive. The Goat cheese salad which I would highly recommened if u never try or seen white, yellow and red beetroot. The presentation of the tuna salad looks mouthwatery already. The chopped tuna with a rim of shredded egg white, cappers n dill taste quite refreshing. This is a pleasant dish. If u like this dish, you should also try the tuna tartar at the SML restaurant. The look and taste are very similar except the raw quill egg on top of chopped tuna. For the mains, we tried Pan-fried Fillet of Sole, Slow Roast pork and Seared Salmon. The portion is big enough for one person. But the quality can't cost that much. The seared salmon skin definitely is soggy not crispy. The first bite already kill the mood. The fillet dish look exactly what it taste... quite boring. N they put way too much butter that hurt my stomach after meal. The slow roast supposed to be tender n soft, but i feel like the stew pork from Camper is way better than this. For the desserts, pls don't don't try Creme Brulee... unless u enjoy melt butter on a thin layer of non crispy caramel. Haven't mentioned the custard is super sweet. The Apple Tarte Tatin is also disappointing. The apple slices are too soft, doens't retain the semi crunchy texture. 

Overall, cold dishes seems look and taste much better than the hot plates. Wait staffs are all friendly and knowleged what they serve, but the food preparation are too slow. We wait for 15-30mins to get one dessert come among three orders. N they still miss out our coffees after 1.5hr later.
