Catching up with good friends over dinner on Friday night. Four of us ordered 4 simple but yummy dishes. 1) BBQ Pork 2) crispy chicken3) poached spinach in fish stock4) baked fish intestines with egg (not tried as I don't like fish intestines)We also ordered some traditional Chinese desserts too. Walnut sweet合桃露, almond sweet蛋白杏仁露 are very creamy. i like my almond sweet better still. #1 & 2 are their signature dishes I believe. BBQ Pork - meat is is so tender. Crispy chicken - I like the skin...lean and crispy.
#3 spinach is in season, i love it. The fish stock is such a healthy and delicious choice, and it can be a soup dish.
#4 is an old-fashioned Cantonese dish that reminded my friends of their fond memory about family cooking in the old days. My friend commented that there should be more 油炸鬼 in it.
An enjoyable simple dinner in a cozy and quiet setting. Service is good too. Should come more often.
