Giant sized mexican bun @ BreadTalk

I like BreadTalk because every now and then they will have some interesting cakes and buns.This time I saw this HUGE mexican bun, the diameter was bigger than a piece of normal sized square toast in the picture.It was pandan and raisin flavoured so I got it.As well as that I got the apple bread and berry rhapsody.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Pandan raisin:The surface of that bun was quite greasy and had a strong buttery smell.It was green inside and the sweetness was mostly from the raisins and the cr

 The surface of that bun was quite greasy and had a strong buttery smell.
It was green inside and the sweetness was mostly from the raisins and the crispy topping on top.
I thought it was fun to put bun against this big baby doll.

 To be honest I can't stand baby dolls but this was an oversized one and its head is the size of a watermelon,
the doll beneath its hand is also an oversized doll too.
Its hand is slightly bigger than my clenched fist and its wrist is bigger than mine too.

 The apple cake was really dense and it was too sweet.
There was lots of cinnamon in it and the apples on top were thinly sliced.

 The berry rhapsody cake was quite nice, it was berry mousse in between layers of chocolate sponge.
The sweetness was just right.

Danish bar and tornado storms at Breadtalk

At Breadtalk they now have the Danish bar which is a Danish pastry rolled into a stick/bar topped with icing, covered in cinnamon or filled with cream.As well as Breadtalk I have seen them elsewhere.There were about four different Danish bars and in the end I chose the cream one.  Although I am not allergic to peanuts but I think it should have been labelled that it contains peanuts because some people are allergic to it.
The taste was nice because the yam filling was not too sweet and the pieces of the peanut gave it a nice crunch.
However it was interesting that there was peanuts in the filling as well.

 The danish bar was quite sweet because the cream was sweet as well.
The texture of the danish was quite dry but luckily I chose the cream one because it balanced the dryness of the danish bar.

Christmas 2011 series @ BreadTalk

Tried the Christmas series at Breadtalk which were just the same items as sold in A1 Bakery, however they both had a Holly leaf stuck on which made it Christmassy.The first item was a sweet baguette dusted with sugar and soaked with egg and baked, similar to bread pudding.The other item was a chocolate bread roll filled with custard.

The new talk of bread in town

This branch of bread talk is located within the Wellcome supermarket.It is rumoured that mall has been run by a Singaporean company hence it makes sense that there is a BreadTalk there.However I wonder how long it survive because BreadTalk is quite high end for that area.Anyway, it offers the same variety as their other branches.I decided to try their cakes, so I bought three: Taro and kaya cake, lemon meringue tart and boston cherry chocolate cake.◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎◎Taro and kaya cak

For this cake, it was a sponge roll filled with purple taro paste.
I could not taste any Kaya or see any kaya as stated on the label.
The taro paste was rather starchy.

This was interesting because it actually had a slice of lemon on top.
It tastes like the usual lemon meringue cakes but it was too sweet.

This was the best out of the three, it was not that sweet, and there was so many of cherry.
It was decorated with a small of macaron on top.
