This restaurant has a relaxed pleasant atmposphere, quite busy with no empty tables but plenty of space.The staff were friendly and helpful and happy to help us choose our dishes.We had;Grandma Chicken, quite tasty fried chicken cut into small pieces and served attractively. The chicken was nicely cooked and was very tender. Mixed seasonal vegetables and mushrooms. Very fresh and nicely presented.Steamed pork mince and salted egg yolk. I don't know the name in Cantonese. We had;
Grandma Chicken, quite tasty fried chicken cut into small pieces and served attractively. The chicken was nicely cooked and was very tender.
Mixed seasonal vegetables and mushrooms. Very fresh and nicely presented.
Steamed pork mince and salted egg yolk. I don't know the name in Cantonese. There were a few variations, with salted fish etc. but salted egg yolk is a favourite of mine. Very nice, mild flavour.
Soup with pork bones and potatoes. Simple soup to start dinner. Very mild.
Other reviews have mentioned that the staff were rude. In my experience this was not the case and the staff were quite charming.
For a special occasion or to try something different, this is not the restaurant you are looking for. From what I could see from the English menu, there are few challenging items and plenty of standard items to choose from and nothing too challenging for those who don't like to take risks with their dinner
If you want a quick and tasty meal after work or before going out; 住家菜 is pretty good.
