Sunday's GroceryMy wife got the banh mi. That's what I would have gotten if she didn't get it. My wife said it was the worst banh mi she's had in HK-- "it wasn't bad, but it definitely didn't stand out at all" and she named three places she thought were better. I would second her, but she forgot Nha Trang, which has much worse banh mi. Still, I wouldn't recommend this. Acceptable, C-
My sandwich was the chicken schnitzel: "tahini kewpie, romaine, tomato, pickles." I thought as a fried chicken sandwich, it was good. The chicken was tender and juicy, it had lots of lettuce and tomatoes, and the mayo ("tahini kewpie"-- is it tahini mixed with kewpie???) was at least somewhat restrained. (The bread on both sandwiches, I should say, was very good-- flavorful but still light enough for a sandwich.) If I didn't have to go to Kennedy town, I'd get this again. Good, B+This is really a "local" place in the sense that if you lived around the corner from it, it'd be great, because fried chicken and beer are great. But if you don't live around the corner from it, you might as well just eat the fried chicken and beer near you. Now if only someone near me would start making fried chicken and beer...
Other Info. :
The chips on the menu are crisps and they're way too sugary for my taste.
