Dinner with Lawyer. Highly recommended by expat friends. Part of the capo group. My first experience with this group. Cozy bar counter seating approx 10 with several tables.Wine list seemed interesting, competitively priced, featuring mostly Italian wines we weren’t familiar with. Friendly Italian manager recommended a bottle of Pinot which we loved. Menu quite interesting. A good selection to go with wine.Bread platter not very exciting.I wanted to try the octopus salad but Lawyer wasn’t a fan. So decided on the burrata with tomatoes. Came on a platter together with a dish of olives with vinegared vegs and hot tomato sauce, which we ate with the bread.The lasagna other ppl ordered looked very yummy with the thick layer of sizzling cheese. Lawyer wasn’t a fan. So decided on the pappardelle (a large, broad, flat pasta) with beef ragu. Quite a big portion. Yummy. Pasta was perfectly al dente.Too busy gossiping and finishing the wine to order dessert.Limoncello to finish off the nite. In summary: bar did live up to the group’s claim as an authentic Italian bar/eatery. Recommended for a nite of casual dining. Very interested to try the group’s other outlets.
