Pita Bread :

烤豬肉串:可選擇豬肉或雞肉,一大枝的串燒,把豬肉切成粒,容易入口;

Sparkling Greek Mineral Water "Vikos" 330ml
Oh!

Talking about Brim 28 in my last review (in Chinese, sorry), another place that I tried in the same area is this Greek fast food shop. As claimed by the restaurant it is the first authentic Greek food place in Hong Kong (yeah I think there are plenty of eateries offering Mediterranean food, with your usual Greek Salads and stuff, but purely Greek food I'm not quite sure.) The dining area has some 20 seats, but since they're all semi-outdoor so it's pretty chilly sitting there now in winter! This

This is one of the tables and is where the π in Grecoπ comes from...your're right, it's the Greek letter (pronounced as Pi) that you see in your math books called 圓周率. And now you know all the Greek letters just by looking at the table!

Back to the food. Grecoπ is manned by the Greek celebrity chef Yiannis Alifragkis who was said to have worked in many reknowned restaurants in Greece. But the food offered at Grecoπ is pretty simple and straightforward: Souvlaki (skewers), Greek Salad, Mezedes (appetizers) and a few desserts. Yet the Souvlaki has many variations: with a choice of pork or chicken you can have it straight (Souvlaki-Kalamaki), wrapped in Greek Pita (Souvlaki-Pita) or have it made into a sandwich for hearty meal (Souvlaki-Skepasti).

But seems that the Lunch Special (available 11:30 am - 3:30 pm $78):
Souvlaki-Pita / Greek Salad + a choice of Mezedes / Dessert + Soft Drink / Mineral Water
is a better deal.
My choice is Souvlaki-Pita (chicken) + Tzatziki + Mineral Water.
The Souvlaki-Pita is really huge I can tell you! The chicken, tomato slices, onions and lettuce are wrapped inside a thick hearty Greek Pita, and there are French fries as well! I first thought the French fries idea was weird but later when I Googled it out I found that Greek Souvlaki-Pitas actually have fried potatoes in them! The grilled chicken bits, done well with a Greek recipe and Greek herbs, are tender and juicy, and there is some kind of sauce (said to be chosen between amongst Tzatziki and Mustard Sauce but I wasn't given the choice, I think it's Tzatziki in retrospect, read on for more about this sauce).

Before I move on to the Tzatziki (the Mezedes - OK it's not Mercedes) I am alreday full with the Souvlaki-Pita.

Tzatziki is actually a mixture of Greek yoghurt, Greek organic extra virgin oilive oil, cucumbers, garlic, dill, salt and pepper. I love yoghurt so I actually love this one, although I think it is a little bit heavy on the garlic but that doesn't hurt. Oh dear, it comes with some more Greek Pita too! This time it's sprinkled with some herbs, paprika and salt. Simple and tasty, but after a couple of pieces I am already stuffed!

No cheating, everything here comes from Greece - even my bottle of mineral water!

My next time is for dessert - Greek yoghurt with honey and walnuts ($28). Greek yoghurt is thicker and richer than usual yogurt with a consistency near cream cheese, yet still has the sourness/tartness of yoghurt. With the honey its sweetness is just right and the walnuts gives extra texture.

This place is worth a try if you want a taste of Greece right here in Hong Kong without having to travel!
