兩個多星期沒推食評,不是沒有在街外用餐,相反,外出用膳的次數比之前頻密得多,但全都是在國外,對了,往外遊了一轉。外遊回來,最不想面對的是香港那悶熱翳焗的天氣,真令人不爽,胃口也大減!然而,回來後最驚喜是從信箱中看到OpenRice寄來的信件,是怎樣的一回事呢?原來出門前推出的食評(見 《古典 滋味,中國會 》)獲編輯推介之餘,還抽到了電影《生命樹》的戲票兩張, (從來眼見一眾資深食家獲此優惠時,自己就只有羨慕的份兒)對於只出了十五個食評就得編輯賞識的新人如我來說,真是一大鼓舞!在此多謝貴網的獎勵,日後我會繼續盡力為到過的食店留下筆跡,作出分享。是日下午又是相當炎熱的一天,不想在家中廚房“焗桑拿”,就到附近的餐廳好了。杏花軒位於杏花村俱樂部內,俱樂部的一眾設施如游泳池、gym room等都需成為會員才能使用,只有餐廳部份是大眾也可進內的。我也很久沒有到杏花軒了,記得兒時一家經常到此晚飯,貪其方便就腳,款式多而價錢亦大眾化。在天與媽媽特地到來尋找兒時那份回憶,只是這此是中午而來。午餐的選擇不多,有點像茶餐廳的ABC餐,我選了焗龍利豬扒飯($33),媽媽則選了紅酒燴牛尾配意粉($57)。餐包不知由何時開始沒有再提供,一個套餐沒了餐包總覺得少了些甚麼…餐湯則在下單不久便送到來,我選了羅宋湯,看起來紅紅的帶些少油份,不像是罐頭貨,嘗一口,除了熱度十足外,還肯定是餐廳自家製的,番茄味濃郁,而湯料有十分豐富,有番茄、紅蘿蔔、椰菜,還附有兩件牛肉,十分足料,是很對辦的餐湯。反觀媽媽的忌廉湯,我沒嘗到,但聞說只是罐頭貨,完全被羅宋湯比下去。到了主菜,媽媽的紅酒燴牛尾配意粉先來,賣相不俗而份量也不少,意粉更是以了另一隻碟子呈上。意粉沒有煮得過硬或過腍,雖不是al dente但也不能要求太多。牛尾煮得十分腍口,入口鬆化並帶有肉味,肉中連著的牛筋亦茫有咬口,牛尾亦盡收紅酒味,入味非常,而碗中的紅酒汁和配菜,如紅蘿蔔條和洋蔥等亦很適合作助麫之用。焗龍利豬扒飯熱騰騰的送來,賣相和一般茶餐廳的鴛鴦飯沒兩樣。我急不及待先盛了一大湯匙,飯面的芝士被一絲絲的拉出,看了也令人食指大動,先試了番茄汁豬扒的一面,飯粒加了蛋同炒過但沒有半分油膩,且粒粒分明,配上濃濃的茄汁同吃,已很美味,煎過的豬扒帶有點點雪味而且有點過薄,沒太多的肉,可幸數量也不少,足有三四塊。至於白汁龍利柳,又是以滋味的芝士蓋面,魚塊用上雪蔵貨是無可口非的,魚味也就欠缺了,但魚塊則正和豬扒相反,是挺厚身的,吃下去有啖啖肉的感覺。餐茶要了熱檸茶,就是平平無奇的以兩片檸檬和lipton茶包開成。是次結帳為$90,沒有加一。食物雖不算有驚喜,但在餐廳中見回看著我成長的一班侍應,又能吃回以前的味道,已叫人倍感親切。

This is a place where you would love to go (for ladies) for breakfast or brunch. I've been to those so-called high-class cha can ting back in Beijing and their set meals, especially breakfasts, are excruciatingly expensive. Usually they cost around RMB25/23. But for here, the most expensive set meal just costs $20 for breakfast. Anyway, I went for my usual set meal, which consisted of thick toast, eggs and oatmeal porridge. It turned out to be pretty good, but of course there were some flaws. The thick toast, I have to say, was not up to standard. The butter was not fully blended with the toast and the texture of the toast was far too hard. It could've been much softer and tasted much better. For the eggs, I had to put in more salt, but when I used to tiny jar for salt, I can't help but take a picture of it. To me, the small jars were not clean at all. Again, this needs to be improved. For the oatmeal porridge, it tasted good. The portion was not too heavy and just right. The texture of the porridge was also appropriate and not too crunchy. All in all, it was a good and cheap meal. Service was quite efficient as there weren't that many people on a weekday, but during weekends, service ain't that great. I would come here again if I'm looking for a cheap breakfast. Of course, the hygiene of this place still has room for improvement.

杏花邨Club House的餐廳,幾經易手,名字也曾改了很多次現時「杏花軒」的名,已經不知道是第幾手了...由現時經營者,經營了數年;以平價西餐作招徠,生意也算穩定對杏花軒西餐的質素,當然不能強求,有過高的期望但如果純粹以抵食、醫肚的角度,相信絕對滿足你的要求上次叫了一份雜扒餐跟意粉,雜扒有牛扒、豬扒、雞扒、香仔、煙肉,尚有少許薯條、青菜作配搭,連埋大大份的意粉,簡直是擺滿一整碟......數款扒的質素只是一般,只是普通的將扒燒熟、塗上洋蔥汁便上碟但以其份量,絕對是一種驚喜,也很抵食埋單計數,餐湯連餐飲,也只是四十元有找呢!
