落完單,侍應生先serve麵包籃,我地要左意大利洋蔥軟包同蕃茄包。前者好香洋蔥味,雖然未夠鬆軟同冇橄欖油醋,但都幾好味。個蕃茄包反而比較遜色,有色冇味,唔係幾掂。湯到,老友即時「不」起一舊蠔,好大方咁請我食,點知原來果粒係成碗湯碩果僅存o既一粒,我一聽見,梗係「禽禽青」吞左佢啦,哈哈!個湯o既味道其實幾似罐頭貨色,唔係太夠香濃,不過味道亦唔差﹝罐頭湯都唔難飲架!﹞。沙律送到,碟頭細細,作為前菜份量係剛剛好。大食老友對呢D「冇咩肉食」o既野當然完全冇興趣啦!係俾我逼住至食左兩條蘋果同芹菜,真係激死!兩道主菜o既味道都唔錯,魚皮煎得香脆,魚肉亦新鮮冇腥味,不過調味方面就略為鹹左D。個燒羊肉切成薄片,配薄荷喱絕對係對味之極,完全唔羶,不過亦唔係好有羊味,而且我覺得熟左D。食羊都係羊架好!

甜品係落左好多杏仁粒o既脆餅,中間夾左幾片士多啤梨,再淋上好多冇咩味o既吉士醬汁。其實個脆餅真係食倒好多杏仁啦架,不過又食唔倒杏仁味喎,真係好吊詭,而且食落好似D健康纖麥餅,大食老友當然不感興趣啦!

整體而言,呢度o既食物水準只係一般,勝在地方企理好坐,服務亦唔錯咁啦!兩個人一路食一路傾,吐下苦水,講下近況,唔經唔覺都成十點幾。食飽飽,獨眼龍又有新主意─今次係去做腳底按摩,哈哈!見佢悶左咁耐,惟有拾命陪君子,搭遲一班船番坪洲啦!

Last night was my gf's birthday and I've chosen to celebrite in the Jimmy's Kitchen. I haven't been there in ages and just thought let's give it a try, and it turned out to be marvelous. The appetizers were deligtful. We ordered a crabmeat cocktail, caesar salad, oxtail and barley soup and a smoked salmon. All of them were very good but the smoked salmon was only fair. Last night was my gf's birthday and I've chosen to celebrite in the Jimmy's Kitchen. I haven't been there in ages and just thought let's give it a try, and it turned out to be marvelous. The appetizers were deligtful. We ordered a crabmeat cocktail, caesar salad, oxtail and barley soup and a smoked salmon. All of them were very good but the smoked salmon was only fair. Then for main course I had the curry lamb and my gf had a mixed vegetable dish, both of them are quite nice but my lamb was a little heavy. Then for desert I preordered their signature "big alaska" and I brought in a bottle of ice wine (corkage fee was $150). The desert was quite nice, not too sweet and heavy. One thing I had to talk about was their service. The captains Martin and Jacky were very friendly and helpful and we had a good chat afterwards. Definitely will return some other time.

It was years ago when I first visited Jimmy's Kitchen, the only thing I remember clearly was the baked potato, why? because the waiter would come by with sour cream, beacon and chives and then ask you if you's like some...one by one in that order. This time I ordered the onion soup, and a crab canneloni (not sure if that's the correct spelling) both pretty nice, too much cheese for lunch though. Decor, food, and service were all pretty good, but a little pricey.

在云云餐廳中,其實對老式豉油西餐廳特別情有獨鍾。上次同太座來已是八年前的事,也是在同一天。難得的是這裡沒有多大的轉變,再來幫襯,我們也是坐全店最角落的位置。呢度雖然是老牌西餐廳,但裝修一點也不老餅,格調典雅,亦不致苟謹,商務應酬可以,亦適合三五知己或一家幾口來飯聚,二人世界都不錯。星期日晚人客都不算少,有八成客滿,席上還大部份是外籍人士,可見這等老式餐廳也有捧場客的。菜色,也專登叫和八年前的一模一樣,前菜是凱撒沙律及焗洋蔥湯,主菜是燒厚切豬扒及乾咖哩羊,甜品是炸雪糕球。凱撒沙律是這裡幾款特色之一,新鮮及自調的沙律沙亦味美,值得推薦。焗洋蔥湯仍是用那個似湯盅的容器上,加入巴馬芝士焗香,濃郁又好味道,也不錯。太座的厚切豬扒跟焗薯、蘑菇及她的至愛荷蘭汁,豬扒肉質不差,是靚貨。燒得剛好,雖然不是炭燒,但佐以荷蘭汁,仍有風味;乾咖哩羊是我的心水,其實呢度除左西餐有水準,咖哩亦做得不錯的,乾咖哩及vindaloo都食得過。乾咖哩幾香,不是太辣,汁收了在羊肉內,雖然肉質偏韌,但都好味道,如果覺得太乾的可叫濕咖哩;例牌隨咖哩另上一個印度thali,一般的會在大圓盤上放六、七個小圓盤,這裡的就用了一個中

甜品了,Baked Alaska火焰雪山是這裡的特色之一,不過太座的心水卻是炸雪糕球。這裡的炸雪糕球也有「火焰」效果的,因為侍應同樣會用Cointreau點火,不過就要自己轉下個雪糕球,如不是就一邊羔一邊不羔了。雪糕與炸皮分得幾開,如火焰雪山一樣也是好睇多過好食的甜品
侍應的服務是相當好及專業,分菜及特別要求都一一做足,人客對菜色的查詢也解答得很詳盡,禮貌周周,值得一讚。
除自擕的紅酒,餐前要了香檳,亦有威士忌,飲得十分盡興。埋單八百多,以地方、服務及食物水準來說,是物有所值。
題外話:開瓶費百五,分吸煙及非吸煙區。

我批評服務差的是金鐘Pacific Place那家Grappa's,有個長髮很年輕的女服務員﹐態度很差﹐女經理反而不錯。另外﹐座位太密了。與中環的Grappa's的服務和環境完全無得比。

上星期六和朋友兩個人去光顧﹐第一次印象很好。Waiter 同Manager 都好有禮貌。晚餐三度菜接近三百元。由於我們都是女孩子﹐另外叫多一個main course 已OK。成晚餐廳都只有五成人﹐半數以上是foreigners。很靜。食物質素很好﹐Chicken,Mushroom 同salmon 幾creamy 但不膩。最意外是蘋果批﹐很鬆化﹐內裡的陷入口融化﹐連不喜歡吃蘋果批的我都吃了半個。我朋友叫waiter多送一杯飲品都OK,不是價錢的問題﹐是覺得幾有人情味。那裡的Waiter 都很專業﹐比起中環Grappa's 的waiters, 簡直差十萬倍。
